I have this theory that OoT is simply not a good game and is only so well-liked across boards because it's the first 3D Zelda. Majora's Mask is emo as hell and trippy and weird, so even if the gameplay was bad, people would say the tone carries it.

I am playing OOT for the first time (never had an N64) and it's actually good, sorry.

No Chrono Cross yet but we've gotten some really weird loving choices of game music so I wouldn't be surprised if it's coming... they've added like 3 Nier songs with more to come. There's a bunch of Chrono Trigger DLC now.

I know I said DLC a lot but the base game has like 200 songs, I haven't even played all of them like 40 hours in.

Also the bottom screen is not used for anything useful in 99% of games these days especially because they made the top and bottom screens different sizes and only top is 3d so now nobody uses the bottom one for gameplay

I just had a alien kill one of my units because I literally could not move and it kept overwatch firing at him then got to keep shooting on the aliens turn.

Edit: Lol this mission sucks rear end. super cramped space and a ton of enemies who have infinite overwatch and stun lock you the second it's your turn.

Combined with being very underwhelmed by the demo the impressions from the full game totally killed my interest

I have the Ocarina cart but I'm actually playing through it right now

On my Gold Zelda 3DS :smug:

I'm confused at the high prices though, especially since there's an eshop version. If I had a local buyer lined up for it I would probably buy the eshop version, use the save transfer tool and sell the game honestly. I would rather have 2 new digital games than an old cart.

Also when I go on trips I never bring carts with me at this point, it would be nice to have the cart slot taken up by something that you can't get online like a DS game.

ThisIsACoolGuy posted:

If it matters it's only been a single mission that it's been as cramped as that. A lot of your units have a mortar of some kind or deal with explosives but the maps usually take that into consideration. That particular map didn't and was just garbage.

Etrian Odyssey 4 is a very good game, is probably the friendliest jumping on point in the entire series, but has way less story than PQ. Like, none of your main characters ever speak. There's still stuff going on around you and with NPCs.

I think it was also the first game that lets you switch to Casual mode at any point, which makes you take a bit less damage and makes it so that gameovers just knock you back to town instead of losing 2 hours of progress because you thought you would explore just a bit longer.

Actually no the really dumb thing is Dex raises physical skills by about DOUBLE what STR does. Very quickly you will stop using sword attacks and stick to skills exclusively at which point points in STR are literally wasted because you never use your sword.

Even when you use auto attacks, DEX actually boosts guns not STR so you end up just using guns
