Use a service like unblock.us or browser plugins to trick Netflix into thinking you live somewhere else. Instead of the normal "top picks", have a look at the list in: http://www.netflix.com/Subtitles It's way longer, and has Netflix's guessed ratings for movies and series.

A second season of Cutthroat Kitchen was just added. I normally don't watch any cooking shows, but I like this one. Synopsis: "Four competing chefs are handed $25,000 and can use the money to either help themselves or sabotage their rivals." Stuff like: How much of your money are you willing to give up to replace all the meat from one of your opponents with spam?

Comedy chat: I love Better of Ted. It's a terribly funny workplace comedy. Too smart for it's own good, so it was cancelled after about 20 episodes.

I see that Netflix just added 11 seasons of NCIS. It's like bubblegum for your eyes. Nothing too challenging, and there's a nice group dynamic. Just like Leverage.

Found a pretty good search engine for the various Netflix regions: http://unogs.com/ It has links to imdb, RT and trailers. Looks like tonight's movie will be The Imitation Game (available in Canada)

The rating system is actually Netflix's prediction of YOUR rating, not of the average user. It seems to be doing a pretty good job for me. Have you rated a lot of movies? If the Guy Maddin rating is wrong for you, give it a different one

Speaking of food shows: Just watched the first episode of Somebody Feed Phil. It was very entertaining. Loved not only the food stuff, but also the way he interacts with other people.
