A bunch of us from work organize a trip to Reno every year, becuase the nicest hotels are as cheap as mediocre places in vegas, and when you're on the casino floor or the sports book, who cares where it is. Plus all of the game minimums are cheap as hell, even when its crowded. The Glumslinger fucked around with this message at 05:00 on May 28, 2016 |

chupacabraTERROR posted:Couldn't they, you know, unapprove it? Just because they liked the idea a year ago doesn't mean that they haven't changed their minds in the last 12 months. The Rams awful attendance, the Raiders recent successes, and the Chargers being wholly uncompetitive are all relevant factors in the question of Can/Will LA Support The Chargers? "Official" attendance is over 83K a game, which is second the NFL, they just happen to play in a stadium for 95K. But yeah, I also know that even though that number is the official number, there are a ton of people who aren't going and tons of people who are leaving early when they get blown out. Still, its not exactly a disaster right now. It is worth noting, they were planning on capping attendance at 80K before the season by not selling the bleacher seats (USC Student section and visitors sections), but decided to sell them as cheap seats after high early sales (when people were expecting a good season) The Glumslinger fucked around with this message at 22:59 on Dec 14, 2016 |

a neat cape posted:They retrofitted the coliseum last year. And it seats a lot of people. Nah, the Coliseum hasn't had significant renovations in ages, in recent years all that has happened was redoing the bathrooms, adding a giant screen, and adding credit card support at the concession stands (this only happened 4 or 5 years ago). There are big plans over the next 2-3 years for Coliseum, to actually (kinda) modernize it by redoing the seating, the stairs (cutting each section in half with an extra stair case), building a new media box and luxury boxes, and possibly a canopy to prevent the student section from melting in the sun

The only city LA hates is Boston

Leperflesh posted:Why would he only get a "cut" of PSLs? Every seat in the house can be sold twice, once for Rams games and once for Chargers games. The only time they ever have to split revenue is when the Chargers play the Rams at home. Stan will likely get a cut of all of the Chargers PSLs since he owns the stadium, plus many boxes aren't sold to season tickets to a team, but as tickets to every event (atleast in Staples Center which is a good example of multi-use stadiums). The truth is that which ever team does better in the short term will probably build a bigger following, but the Chargers would have to be very successful to build up one larger than the one they are leaving behind. Plus, in LA the chargers aren't coming in as outsiders, they were already an acceptable "local" choice before the rams moved back, I cant say that they had a following anywhere near any of the existing major LA teams
