I want a sequel to Sengoku that isn't just a bare-bones skeleton of an alpha for CK2. Give me a proper Japanese CK2 :colbert:

Isn't there a Sengoku mod for CK2 already?

That'd have to be a pretty extensive mod to rewrite various things (especially events) to a more Japanese/Asian culture.

Why am I tempted to get Sengoku, even though I know it'll be awful.

Also, one day Paradox will stop making CK2 DLC. The sale after that, I will finally catch up on DLC and break free of this compulsion not to play until I have all the major DLCs.

So I'm reading the book Dreadnought which is all about the lead up to WW1 (with a heavy emphasis on the naval aspects) and drat if all these early chapters detailing the politics of 1850-1900 Victorian Britain and Bismarckian (later Wilhelmian) Germany aren't making me wish Victoria 3 really was a thing.

[edit] Since it does not exist, I might, instead, finally pick up EU4 during the sales coming up.

Yeah, exactly. The thing about gravity assists with planets and moons reminds me of the other wild thing about combat, where the animation shows ships ducking and weaving around and going PEW PEW, but this is happening over days,

This happens in CK2 and I presume EU4 as well, is it really that much more bothersome because it shows ships buzzing around instead of just two dudes whacking eachother with swords?

Honestly thats basically the only thing I really DO remember from playing CK1, they Beatified the Bitch Aunt... :argh:

NWS' Steam and Iron and Rule the Waves use an actual globe.

Granted in RtW its mostly unnecessary cause most of the time you'll be zoomed in to an area only a few dozen kilometers across.

It plays a bigger role in Steam and Iron's historical campaigns though, making sure travel ranges and such are correct.

You take the stuff from CK2 that worked best, drop the things that didn't quite work out as desired, and either redo them or leave them for DLC.

Not sure I'd want a CK3 for several years though.

What I'm trying to say is, if ship design is a feature, it should be a major centerpoint of the game or just an extremely basic thing or not existent, not some weird halfsies.
