The elf isn't even a long range specialist, they're meant to be a skirmisher. If you're boring and stupid and not fun you'll try to play it like a long range specialist, but it's not.

I'm starting to suspect that if an attack isn't armor piercing and it hits the sackrat's sack it doesn't do any damage; and something similar with the globadier/ratling gunner's backpacks(which maybe get a chance to explode?). Someone earlier mentioned that your performance effects your loot options; is that true and if so how does it work? Like, when I'm playing the Empire Soldier I've always got a billion clanrat kills, but when I'm playing the witchhunter I don't have many at all but I do have the most stormvermin and special kills. What gets weighted and how?

I cannot stress how important it is to take the rifle as a soldier. Steady your aim and a headshot will kill any special outside of an Ogre.

Having a Gunner drop down and immediately eat a bullet before it can spin up is very, very satisfying.

The crossbow for the Witch Hunter is like that too. I sure love the idea of having 48 pistols strapped to my torso, but that crossbow is a boss bitch for dealing with the dangerous rats.

I agree that zombies are boring and played out, but you can't deny that there's a sizable population that are into the zombie apocalypse fantasy who will buy games that have zombies in them, it has an inbuilt audience. You can't say the same thing for the rat killing fantasy. I think the idea of making a left 4 dead style game in a fantasy setting is good, and the random loot is a cool idea to keep it interesting. I just think a large problem with this type of game is that it gets pretty repetitive, and having every enemy be a rat doesn't help - even though there's some with guns and rat-ogres and stuff, they're still visually rats. I don't know that much about Warhammer lore so maybe it's great if you're a Warhammer fan, but from an outside perspective i feel it would be better to make the enemy faction the Chaos, since they had a variety of enemies like the evil knight guys, the mutant warriors, the evil mages and demons. Even if what i'm saying is completely unfounded and the rats don't get boring because they have tons of personality, i still think it's easier to sell a game where you fight lots of different stuff than a game where you fight rats, rats and more rats.

(I also think making the Brightmage playable character a 60 year old crackhead is a weird decision too)

Within the framework of the setting, chaos would be the worst enemies. Other than marauders and really basic beastmen things like the Chosen or basically any daemon are just something that four ordinary mortals can't kill. Of the enemies you can have in Warhammer, the best ones for a horde game like this are Skaven or Orks, and in the official storyline for the setting the Skaven are overrunning the cities of men during the End Times.

They're also pulling the Chaos Moon Morrslieb down into the earth, which gets the Slaan in Lustria all worked up to stop them and gives a reason to include a lizard man hero :getin:

I would pay like $15 for a Warpriest of Sigmar character, who trades a ranged weapon for a prayer book that he just holds up and shouts litanies from while you hold down the mouse button. I'd also pay a lesser sum of money to replace the Witch Hunter's ranged weapon with that.

While I generally agree that the person playing the elf is the worst, I had an elf pub drop earlier and the bot used the poo poo out of that quick bow with perfect accuracy. Every horde, entire waves would fall down with arrows in their faces almost at once it seemed. That was pretty awesome.

It really is! I saved a Wheat & Chaff run with it; I spawned into already getting beaten by a swarm at low health and two downed characters nearby. I managed to revive them both between shield pushes because it takes barely two seconds to rez someone with that trinket. I spent the rest of the game doing that and tossing bags like some sort of hairy little strongman.

I thought that the charge drained all remaining stamina to block it, no matter how many pips you have left. I've blocked it with everything from 2.5 pips to a shield's 5 pips and had it work that way. The ground pound will do damage if you're in range no matter what though; blocking just reduced it slightly.
