Man you'd think that in a world filled to the brim with crazy powerful poo poo and people, everyone would be a bit more on the defensive. Basically unless you're top dog royalty there's always someone out there that can ruin your poo poo yet everyone is crazy reckless.

If demons can change in the blink of an eye like that things aren't looking too good for Cio. I wonder how long it'll be until she starts remembering her old self.

Are those marks on Cio's face wounds? Or is it another sign that she's changing.

Come to think of it her speech is different too. Much more straightforward.

Is there even a way to permanently kill a devil. Odds are the worst that will happen is that she goes down a tier. She may forget a lot if that happens though. It could also be that this moment jogs her memory and she recalls more of her full name.

Breaking a devil's mask destroys the anchor holding its consciousness and personality together, and it rapidly reverts to a chaotic mass of the hot black flame, because devils cannot maintain individuality without their masks. Even if someone manages to recover the mask and painstakingly put it back together, it isn't necessarily the same devil that comes back: see Cio vs Yab.

So what you're saying is that everything will be ok as long her head/face remains intact and thus everything will be fine for Cio! :buddy:

I'm not sure they'll get sadder but I hope and guess they will definitely keep up this trend of them being nothing like you'd think a demiurge could or should be.

E: and to break that trend a bit one of them will be legit terrifying.

This is great for comparison. Cio's en route to yabhood pretty heavily. Still missing arms, but they're definitly yabbie as hell. Her horns are still blue, but their base has already turned purple.

Well what did ya expect to get when you leave magic demons trapped half under rubble in an infinite murderdungeon, ally! If your inner psycho didn't leave her to fend for herself she might've be a bit less cooky.

Even in the real world people worship hosed up things, willingly. If you're an eldritch horror that rules 111111 worlds, you're bound to have willing subjects.

I hope Gog-agog's backstory is still intact. Being powerful enough to kill a demiurge while probably not even knowing what they were nor knowing the true value of what she claimed from them is great.

I love how atypical most/all the antagonists are. Always looking forward to learning more about them. For some reason I thought Goggles would be reserved for much much later. Then again maybe they'll speak for two seconds and then flocks off into the backdrop for literal years.

Did a reread recently and noticed that I understand a whole lot more of all those exposition pictures where white chain and Cio explain things. At my first read it was hard to figure out just how literal to take some of them.

It also highlighted for me that we still know very little about the asian themed demiurge. She's very present in those pictures but doesn't do a whole lot in them afaik.

I wonder if Solomon has another facet that we will uncover in time or if this is genuinely it. He openly says he's a tyrant and takes over work from a people who were already ahead of their schedule. Does he do these things as propaganda or does he believe this is something he just needs to do as a ruler?

Tourney might be dope! I say "might" because Allison is good at crashing parties so it might turn into something else entirely.

Some storytellers become attached to characters and that makes it harder to write certain things. Then there are authors who have a story to tell and will make their characters go through whatever is needed to tell it. Getting the feeling operant might be the latter.

I have a new job since a couple of months and I really like it. I am also planning to take a week off. That week I won't do anything related to my job and I really like that too! The idea that I would look at that week off and think "but I would work anyway so why take a break" would feel pretty bad. I hope operant gets to a point where a break would actually feel like a break!

I think I have some finance things that require optimizing(cancel a server I dont really use, overbulky phone plan needs trimming) and get a patreon tier.

So either allison accidentally gets her headspace perforated like those weird slave.. doll... things we saw at the court of evil, or Cio underestimates just how strong the key is and explodes.

Alternatively this is close to the same as Cio gaining the key the normal way. In which case we could be getting another bout of good ol Yabbie. Now souped up on turbo royal furious dumbassery.

This is a good point, there's going to be a massive cloud of dust as White Chain throws haymakers, and then she'll stand back panting with a smile on her face before saying something like "IMPOSSIBLE, NOTHING COULD HAVE SURVIVED THAT" as an unharmed Allicio comes into view.

Eh, she didn't make the fatal flaw of prefixing her attack with yelling "certain kill" + attack name so its still not completely hopeless.
