I made a 30K tshirt! One day, I will upload pictures of the 1K pts Death Guard that I have. One day... On HH 8th editioning: challenges can go straight to hell. Just crib "on a to-hit roll of 6, roll a D6 and if you score a 6, you can allocate the wound!" from Bolt Action and you'll solve the gently caress out of that problem. And the new AP rules are much superior to what 30K/7e had. Dunno about the initiative and I do feel that vehicles positioning should matter for armor saves. I would like all of the termies to have 2W.

Ah, so those are the underslung red-dot sights I have been hearing about so much. I'm amazed at how poo poo GW is at making uniform bolt pistols, it seems they are hardly ever the same in the same range. They nail plasma pistols, but bolt pistols and, less noticeably, laspistols are just impossible. People on Specialist Thread said this thread is cool and good, so here's a link to a thing I wrote: http://www.wargamer.com/articles/light-in-an-age-of-darkness-the-rule-changes-horus-heresy-should-embrace/ To prove my 30K chops, here's a picture of a recent purchase:  I'm an idiot who bought Prospero before it was even released, sold everything save for MKIIIs, purchased the Calth commanders, a DG dread, chest pieces, missile launchers and chest pieces, assembled and painted everything by July, and then pre-ordered the Age of Darkness books to get the reference sheets (I laminated them). You may notice the lack of "played the game" in that paragraph. That's because, to my knowledge, I have the only assembled and painted 30K army in my city if not the entire Lithuania. I have one friend who has basically the entire Custodes infantry range as well as Dreads and the Palas Anti-Grav Cutie-Pie. Not assembled, tho. My current wishlist is to have one of each infantry unit that loyalist DG could have and dreads (but not the weird looking Daredeo). I just want to play 1k pts Zone Mortalis/Tactical Strike :/

On a semi serious point, I tried making a 1000pts Solar Auxilia list for Mortalis without climbing over 300 euro. The best strat so far was giving the commander basically all of the upgrades, bumping him tp 250ish pts and allowing a Turbo Veletaris elite choice. I ended up with fewer models than in my 1k DG. In conclusion, no Solar Auxilia for me.

Well, I do hate AP2/3 artillery conceptually (since I have never played a game) since a) stuff that removes your crap en masse with no saves allowed is horrible b) on table artillery triggers my verisimilitude and should be removed outside of weird tracked mortars. I dislike that fact that as presented, Veterans have one Right Choice and four You Probably Want To Lose choices. Charontides look pretty baller and I imagine they remove anything they come into contact with, and I'm OK with steampunk cyborg ogryns being like that. I do love Leviathan dreads because they're svole Contemptors with cool looking guns that unfortunately eat the pilot's soul or whatever.

Yeah, I'd like to have on of each non-chapter* specific dread for 40k too. *and the BT dread as a Venerable, since my Original Content Donut Steel chapter Stilled Voices uses a lot of BT bitz. On thing about dreads: what made me absolutely disgusted with 7e (well, more disgusted) was watching a ZM on YT where a Contemptor stepped out of corridor and removed a bunch of RG vets via a single plasma blast. It was just horrible, especially since I was playing Infinity often and Infinity doesn't have such no-risk kills

Are those regular tiny metal chains or what? Also, Deathguard questions. Is it worth going for the Reaping in 1k ZM list? Using Tartaros to build Loyalist Deathshroud (I dislike the FW models, too): yay or nay? How do you build a boarding shield Cent? The two resin praetor pack doesn't seem fit for it. Are chem flamers a liability in ZM? Template already rends in ZM and you get Gets Hot top, but I want it to be DG, noy optimal. Anyways, what would be characteristic DG choices for 1k Mortalis game? I don't have a firm grasp on the image of DG aside from a slowly advancing wall of Tacs.

I thought SHINY AND CHROME IWs are cool, but daaamn. Also, those militiamen are just fukken insane. I usually lol when people say that seeing some well painted poo poo makes the lose any sort of willingness to paint, but those conversions and paints make me feel like a particularly slow child

Solar Auxilia is super sexy, and the new transport solves my issue with Dracosan. Both of them are quite useless in Zone Mortalis, though. Which I'm 99% guaranteed to play today. Which will break the seal of "no more HH models until I get a game in." God(-Emperor) help us all.

Played first game of HH and ZM, 1k pts, my DG vs. a bud's Custodes. A heavy support Sarge survived by running away. The Custodes lost two wounds on Sentinel Guard squad, two wounds on Custodian Guard squad and a HP on Galatus. The Shield Captain almost did some fighting.

His shield captained stayed in the reserves until turn 4 and didn't do poo poo in the game. Galatus took Rapid Fire plasma to the face (first casualty of the game was a Gets Hot! which is why I love plasma), ran through the support squad, stood calmly through plasma cannon fire from my dread and then hosed it up in CC. I dunno if any non-Leviathan can take it on. 4 Sentinels chopped through 20 tacs, including two Power scythe challenges. The Delegatus surprised me by being just W2 while the chainfist - which I forgot was MC - just couldn't ID the S5 custodian guard.

Betrayal at Calth box is a great place to start with Fists if you don't mind MK IVs. You get 30 dudes who can be your Tacs, Vets and Supports, you get Cataphracti termies, two models for commanders and a monopose Contemptor that will inspire you to cut up a dread.

So, part of our plan to HH was getting a ZM board. Like, this was a major point of that. So, my friend ordered the 450 bongs to bundle to get the board in one fell swoop. This is what he received: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1SV3vNvhSHRWWyh30bnqudk5pVDvRREGl When he complained, FW said that "fixing" with putty is routine quality assurance stuff and that most of the stuff withing acceptable band of what you can expect from resin. They can replace the kit, but we shouldn't expect an increase in quality (friend also found a Dakka thread from 2012 with the same complaints). Currently, he's asking for pick up and a refund - or getting a fresh new ZM board that hasn't been "fixed" in any way so that we (this includes poor old me) could patch it up ourselves. Other options being considered: Mantic (unlikely), Corvus Games terrain, Hirst Arts, making a board from imperial ruins (if you haven't worked with GW building terrain before, the walls aren't solid - they come in many one-floor height bits that you can basically connect in any way you want, so there might be a possibility there). So yeah, Zone Mortalis: good rules, perennially borked terrain.

Looking amazing there! Speaking of which, since ZM limits squad size to 15 dudes, what Militia troops choices aside from Grenadiers can take part? Militia and Inducted Levy start at 20 iirc.
