Is this pretty much cut and dry at this point that Emrakaul/Emeria is somehow involved here? I'm not too up on the lore but it kinda looks that way with some of the flavour text and the *nudge nudge* references going about.

There's nothing that needs white so why not just basic swamps?

sarmhan posted:They tried this, the alternative is much worse. I know what the argument is and it goes "yeah but there's nothing stopping people playing land go and running the clock down" which would happen, but look at all other kinds of games, if I were in a local Pool tournament not at any kind of pro level and me and my opponent just kept hitting the same ball with no intentions of finishing the game someone would go "cut that poo poo out or you're both getting tossed out". It's part a rules thing and part behaviours, if people knew it wasn't on and could call that poo poo out to the TO it wouldn't happen. If Wizards came out and said "ID's are against the spirit of competitive play" it wouldn't change overnight but it would gradually become accepted that you play your games the best you can.

Dr. Stab posted:What about it makes no sense in a competitive environment? The closest I can think is football (Soccer) there are plenty of situations there where 2 teams drawing would be mutually beneficial but it's just not done. Another one is Poker where chip dumping is something that happens but everyone knows it's lovely and if a casino or TO has good evidence it's happening then everyone involved gets thrown out. You can't stop it happening completely but if you can change it so it has a "this is bad" mentality then it won't be as big of an issue.

Dr. Stab posted:So, what solution is there besides having every match be supervised to see if the draw was in good sport or not? Make drawing have negative consequences I guess, if you go 1-1-1 or 0-0-3 then both players get an overall round loss. It would incentive pushing for the win & playing faster.

If KotWO had some kind of either/or thing going on where you could have it either fetch the land if you were behind or come in with a +1/+1 counter on it that would probably sweeten the deal. Don't think that would be over-costed either as it's WW

The "Echoes of old innistrad" idea similar to the expeditions sounded to me like a really good idea. I mean standard players get to have the EV of a box lowered and can turn a nice card in to a chunk of a deck and modern players see more cards come on the market, it's win win. Just don't make them one in every 5 boxes or whatever the hell expeditions were.

anglachel posted:List? I just threw a bunch of stuff into a deck and was fairly pleased by it's performance. Like it gets crushed by all the value decks out there, but the deck will still be a thing after rotation. Note that I tried to use predominately Shadows Cards. Kolaghan's command is probably strictly better than say Avacyn's Judgement, i just wanted more payoff cards for madness. Between Insolent Neonate, Heir of Falkenrath, Olivia, Ravenous Bloodseeker, Elusive Tormentor, and Lava Axe you have all the madness enablers ever. However the biggest problem is that there is there no good payoff cards for Madness in Shadows, and it's very unlikely we will see more madness cards in Eldritch Moon. Your best payoff cards if Fiery Temper, Avacyn's Judgement is cute, but your rarely in a position late game where you have both a madness enabler and Avacyn's Judgement ready go to with plenty of mana, so it's just a slightly less useful Kolaghan's Command quite a bit. Asylum Visitor is a 3/1 for 2 mana, I never once got her ability to get going. Kalitas and Elusive Tormentor will get Trangressed Away quite a bit. Looks like it would be a good match against Boss Humans too, which is what I assume my meta is going to be full of given trading chat over the last few days.
