You only lose all your usable money and 200 million offshore. Guns and perk decks stay. Buy a bunch of expensive guns before infamying and after that, sell them and you don't even really lose money.

Skill levels are really easy and quick to get back if you do dw/1d stealth and some ovk loud stuff.

Akimbo quad mag krinks with all oppressor skills, aced swan song and aced bulletstorm was how I got that trophy. Try Diamond. The first timelock gate with the rooms on both sides is a good area for bunching a lot of cops in a tight space.

I thought Rats day 1 had 100% escape chance regardless of difficulty if you blow up the lab. Was that changed? Edit: derp, I read that as 1D as in the difficulty. Disregard!

Also tip for trophy grinding: If you're also missing the transports trophy, do that and don't take pro driver. Kill lots of civvies and you have a good chance to get escapes as well.

Yeah, you have to first manually set the skill sets to certain slots or it works very wonkily or not at all. Just go through every skill set and make sure they are on separate slots. Then it should work perfectly.

Make a build for them (Oppressor tree and silencer skills from ghost) and they are very fun and good. Akimbo krinks are the best IMO.

Mayhem and DW are still pretty fun if you make a build that stacks a bunch of damage buffs and play a bit more carefully. They do restrict viable builds considerably from Overkill, but you can still have fun and shoot cops. One Down just goes further down that road and becomes a chore.

My experience with yacht heist civ and guard locations has been that there's always a way to get to the money stashes. For me, the civs have never been near the stashes or if they have, there's always something like a table to cover me while I take the money. The guard cycles on higher difficulties can be tricky if there are two guys going through the same corridirs, but I have found some safe spots where I can sneak past them both.

The tags and the decks are important information. They are very accurate. The only random bit is just where exactly on the given deck the correctly tagged item is, but the yacht is so small it isn't really an issue.

Edit: to be more specific, pay attention to the tag colours! If there are civs standing right next to a place where a stash might be, it probably has the wrong tag and therefore will be empty. At least in my experience I have never had to put down any civs in the yacht unless I made a mistake.

Edit edit: The tag next to the laptop is random. At least in my games it hasn't always been the right colour.

I guess there is still the possibility that the old crew has become senile and the game will feature credit pack micropayments packs that you have to buy in order to hack anything.

Or the hacker is a Batman knockoff and Shodan a moustache-twirlingly comic bad guy and the game is a dumb cover-based shooter.

I mean, I hope it isn't, but given some other recent sequels, remakes and reboots, that is a possibility.

Frenzerchist is a decent choice for OD. If you want to make it better, I'd suggest taking off some damage perks an putting points in jokers and related skills. Fully upgraded jokers are really good and useful in OD.

Edit: I would say that build is not optimal, but still very much usable. I've done most of my OD runs with frenzerchist and the only map I'm missing is Goat Simulator.

You don't need ecms for the speedrun since you can do it on normal and the alarm gives you exactly four minutes anyway so it's all the same. Just ignore the manager, break the window to the office and check the name, go hack the computer.

It appears that only one of the needed items spawns per run of a heist, so you have to start at least 20 heists to catch em all.

The bullet in jewelry store spawns on a shelf behind glass in the back office (the one with bob), behind the sofa behind the store, on the vantage point, and behind the parking booth.

The cultist on diamond store...I only saw it in the alley behind the store, and behind one of the planters at the fountain.

The marine on Four stores can spawn on either escape area, or on a shelf in the back room of the 24/7.

What thread would that be?

Cultist can also spawn in the corner of the office right next to the stairs.

Robot spawns next to a bush near the dumpster at the end of the back alley leading to the docks, or on the roof near the helicopter landing zone. Haven't seen other spawns for it.

To add:

If you spot Ralph rather than run into him, you can wait until he walks into a safer spot like the office area. From there it's usually easy to walk him to the area with a set of stairs and a meeting room and leave him in the meeting room. No guards go there. Alternatively you can leave him in the office area and kill the one guard that patrols there. Alternatively alternatively just cap Ralph.

If you get the red diamond vault inside the regular vault, this makes one guard path right into the vault and get alerted from the open red diamond vault. Since the guard walks deep into the vault before alerting, you can just kill him there because no one will see his corpse.

Discendo Vox posted:

Nowadays the best guess is that Big Bank is run by...ugh. This is going to get complicated. Let me find my effortpost.

Background
Once upon a time there was a Thing of Power. It was used by an alliance of three kings. The Thing of Power made these three basically immortal superbeings, along with other benefits. They had an alliance to share the Thing. This alliance was called "Kataru". (Kataru literally means "alliance" in ancient sumerian, to give you an idea of how old these guys are). Kataru ruled the world-basically they were the illuminati on steroids.

Karatu had, like, squires, pages, or officers or something, which were called "Watchers". One of the Watchers, a guy named Baldwin, tried to steal the Thing in about 1814 (this was when the White House was burned down). Baldwin failed to seize the Thing, and disappeared. This mess set off a power stuggle that caused Kataru to collapse- the Thing got sealed away, the kings split up and started stealing and hiding each other's junk like it was a bad breakup. One of the Kings came out mostly on top of this struggle, and he was still immortal, but he didn't have access to the Thing, and some of the other powerful artifacts used to access the Thing. This guy effectively took over Kataru and used it to seek out the other artifacts and engage in an extended secret conflict with the other group members.

(Since this time, it appears the Thing, or at least the key to accessing the Thing, has been referred to as "Baldwin's Lament". That name is dumb, so I'll keep calling it the Thing.)

Old Kataru members

It looks like Kataru consisted of the following members:

King 1: "Doctor King", aka the Dentist. Associated with that box with the eye of providence/pyramid on it, and The Diamond, which is also called the Demon Star.
The king who took over Kataru? That's the Dentist. Basically every antagonist group in the game, starting with Murkywater and including Gensec and the Garnet Group, seem to be working for him. He's apparently all-powerful, especially since we retrieved his box for him from the golden grin casino. He's also got the feds working for him at this point.

King 2: "King Elephant", no prizes for guessing his identity. Associated with a box with a bird's flight trail on it (but the bird is tiny, the whole thing looks like an abstract snake), and the Police Star.
It looks like the Elephant was trying to coach Bain to be a sort of new generation of Watcher, maybe. Whatever his plan was, it's largely fallen apart with Bain gone and with McKendrick having turned on him. It looks likely that he was the reason that the Diamond was in a museum, and the Dentist's Loot was in the Golden Grin. (for the record, a bunch of crossover heists that have us hitting Murkywater were originally going to be hitting the company for the Elephant.) It appears that the Elephant has deep ties to the actual American government, and it appears likely that the Big Bank and Golden Grin were both under his direct or indirect control (since the Dentist sent us to attack them).

King 3: "Scribe King", identity unknown. Associated with a box with a double triangle thing on it, and the "Fate Star". Might have gotten killed in the civil war, might be hidden, might be Bain. No one's sure. It would be odd, but is theoretically possible that Nathan Garnet, the secretive head of the Garnet Group, is this king.

Watchers: Basically pages, probably functionaries meant to keep the kings from abusing their power and keep the pact going, safeguarding the Lament. Baldwin was definitely a watcher, Cagliostro was probably one. It's indicated that by 1905, all of the Watchers are "gone", due to the collapse of the old alliance. Some lines indicate Bain is also a Watcher- it's unclear who made him one, but it's implied that he's associated with the Scribe King.

Lindenhurst: Referred to as a "regent", which is someone who fills in when a king is unavailable. Possibly filling in for the "scribe king". Lindenhurst possessed an item, the "Amulet of the Perseids," which he passed on to Duke's grandfather, Desmond, shortly before being killed in 1905. Duke says he was killed by another regent, which doesn't make much sense.

Right Now
We're going for the Thing(aka Baldwin's Lament). The Thing may or may not trigger the apocalypse. We have all three of the Kings' boxes (whatever those are), and the Amulet. It seems like the Dentist has at least one of the three "stars", and, well, Bain. And the police. And Kento. Did I mention Kento appears to be running Murkywater for the Dentist? well, he is.

What's Locke's role in all of this?
