I also think churches are a big enough social factor in the South that it might make sense to go to one even if you don't believe simply so you can actually participate in a community.

I'm a practicing Catholic, but I plan on being pretty careful about religion with any hypothetical children. I personally think that blind faith has little meaning, and that it is possible to be a good person regardless of one's faith.

Really though the like 3 Pentecostal services in my life freaked me out due to the tounges thing. Mormon services were also disquieting but mostly because they pushed REAL hard to convert me.
