It certainly doesn't help young voter turnout that everyone and their mother knows that the results won't be within 25 points. I'll be honest, if I was a Dem in SC I wouldn't have voted today. Yes I know, I'm part of the problem.

Has Bernie ever once come out to a rally with Disco Inferno blaring in the background? Because if not that's why he's lost.

Goetta posted:Yeah most of them will vote for Clinton of course. I just don't think any enthusiasm he generates in terms of young voters going out and being engaged in the political system necessarily translates to them doing it for the Democrat party. Well apparently he wasn't really drumming up any enthusiasm in terms of young voters going out to the polls anyway so...

GrimGypsy posted:I don't get it; I wanted Bernie and don't even like Hillary that much, but why are people pretending she's somehow a bad candidate? She's a loving hilariously powerful candidate. It's a real credit to Sanders that he made the impact against her that he did, even if she was clearly holding back so far. I'm in the same boat. Hell I'm still voting for Bernie on Tuesday. But I recognize that as long as Hillary wins in November the progressive movement will get a bit stronger as the years go on. Elizabeth Warren 2024 come on down!

I love Bernie and wish the voting results were opposite of what they are. But they aren't. And frankly if he can't win it I think a Hillary blowout win will prove better for the party's chances in November than her squeaking out a victory under undoubtedly controversial circumstances.
