Anyone interested in buying some Legion or Trolls? I have big lots I'm willing to move for way cheap. I'm out of this game and they're taking up space.

Does anybody know if the full versions of the junior Warcasters are steamroller legal? I know they got pre released but couldn't find a definitive answer.

They would do that when I'm broke.

So I got my first game in with Morg3 this week. I... am not sure what to think of him. I had the following lovely list.

Dominar Morghoul & Escorts - WB: +25

- Rhinodon - PC: 12 (Battlegroup Points Used: 12)
- Titan Gladiator - PC: 15 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13)
- Titan Gladiator - PC: 15
- Basilisk Krea - PC: 7

Tyrant Rhadeim - PC: 9

Paingiver Beast Handlers - Leader & 5 Grunts: 7
Praetorian Ferox - Leader & 4 Grunts: 20
Nihilators - Leader & 9 Grunts: 15

Vs

Krueger the Stormlord - WB: +27
- Woldwyrd - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9)
- Woldwyrd - PC: 9 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9)
- Wold Guardian - PC: 17 (Battlegroup Points Used: 9)
- Woldwarden - PC: 16
- Woldwarden - PC: 16

Celestial Fulcrum - PC: 19

Blackclad Wayfarer - PC: 0
Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0
Blackclad Stoneshaper - PC: 0

Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5
Sentry Stone & Mannikins - Leader & 3 Grunts: 5
Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3
Shifting Stones - Leader & 2 Grunts: 3
THEME: The Bones of Orboros

I lost but not aa badly as I expected to. I came up short on a long shot assassination with a gladiator vs Kreuger. Morg3 needs a lot more finesse than I thought he would and the Woldwyrds really made not enjoy having upkeeps on my dudes.

Gonna chalk it up to my first game with Morg3 and needing a better list and more familiarity, but it feels like Nihilators are the wrong choice in every list in Mk3.

I have about a dozen games with M3 under me belt at this point nihilators made the list variation after the third game and have stuck since. The amount of clearing they can do under his feat can be monstrous.

Reivers are what have really made the list hum for me, from memory at a SR last weekend I played:

Morg
Marketh
Despoiler
Gladiator
Cyclops Shaman
Willbreaker
Min Handlers
Nihilators
Reivers+UA.

Mirage let's the reivers aim pretty freely and goes on Morghoul around turn 3 to turn his threat range up.

I ran a Naaresh version of this theme last night, with 5 Savages, a Shaman, and a Wrastler.

Turns out to be real funny when a 7 point light handily one rounds a 19 point heavy.

I'd argue that Rebuke is even worse, and upkeepable. I spent games where my 20 point cavalry unit could do basically nothing, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Most arcnodes die after they get out their round of spells, but once your Stormlances have Rebuke, they csn't get rid of it. Distraction has to be reapplied.

Distraction is stronger because it isn't an upkeep, so you can target multiple units and not have it removed by upkeep removal.

Speed 3 heavies lost their remaining value when you got two theme forces that remove AD, the only reason they are speed 3.

I think Zerkova is a really apt comparison, especially in the fact that she kinda needs an arc node that doesn't exist for her. She has to be within 10" of the enemy to land Fate, Mark, or Tide. Sure she can Vanish back to 13", but I'm not convinced that's far enough for most opponents.

If I want a beast threat-extender warlock with a Def fix, I'll take Doomy 2 and let him stay way the gently caress back after tossing his upkeeps has out.

She has an arc node named Mulg.

As someone just getting started, I have trouble with theme forces. Their use doesn't seem optional.

For the price of restricted unit list, you bet a bonus ~15% points in a 75 point game. That's calculated including the warlock bonus.

That's the view from someone who hasn't played a game. Maybe in practice the restrictions really do balance out the bonus points?

They don't. The game is balanced around themes currently. Unless you have a spectacularly specific reason you shouldn't play out of theme and expect an even game.

Ugh. Had a terrible showing at a big tournament in Atlanta over the weekend. Ended the day 1-4, and every game I lost I was completely crushing until I doofed up. On the flip side, watching the Harkevich player's face drop when I just backed out of range of his flock of heavies to wait out his feat before counter-feating with Rasheth was so, so good.

Over commit with your caster? That's a bad habit of mine.

Only in one of the games, and it was less an overcommit and more of a "not back the gently caress up" moment where I accidentally left a lane for a Mobility'd Dervish to get to Tubby. Two I got locked out on scenario between terrain and some blocking Gargantuans and one I unfortunately clocked as I was killing his caster. Every game I was utterly dominant on attrition but I wasn't contesting their scoring elements enough in live scenarios. Too used to Grymkin still and being able to just throw a Gremlin Swarm out there to contest trivially.

Literally the only Skorne non-caster warrior models with multiple attacks who are playable in theme with Makeda (other than Marketh who's losing them) either (a) have easy access to side step as they are praetorian swordsmen or legends and can ignore tough in theme, (b) are ferox with leap, a 2" base, and a 2" reach one side and a bite the other and can ignore tough in theme, (c) are nihilators and not in a theme with Marketh (d) are Ancestral Guardians, or (e) are character models; Zaadesh, Hakaar, and Vorkesh.

This just feels like an absurdly lazy nerf. "That spell is causing problems? Let's nerf it and not even bother to see how it interacts with the faction". With the result her signature spell, the spell that tried to give her back her Mark 2 functionality, is pretty close to useless. I don't believe after that there's anyone on the PP dev team who even plays Skorne outside Exalted.

As I said to a friend, it's a change that stinks of Soles, since he can't design his way out of a paper bag.
