Zesty posted:Dick Miller died today. It's a good thing he didn't live to see the time period he portrayed. 2024. We still have time. Dang. I don't really post here or anything, but I just rewatched that two parter this evening. Horrifyingly prescient, and Miller did a good job.

Dr. Video Games 0081 posted:While most of the Pah-Wraith stuff is bad (and the Prophets too aren't so hot really) am I wrong in thinking the episode where Keiko gets possessed is excellent? I remember feeling like it was really compellingly plotted and gave a real sense of urgency to O'Brien's actions. I mean, The Assignment is really good in my opinion, too. But then, I am a terminal Keiko apologist, and I don't hate the Prophet/Bajoran stuff as much as many around here, so...

MikeJF posted:It was a very last minute no-warning thing, I think. I'm pretty sure I remember Terry Ferrell stating in an interview at some point that she was pushing to be killed in that very episode because it was poignant, but they decided it needed to be in the finale. Also the episode "The Sound of Her Voice", which is the episode before the finale, at Captain Cusak's funeral O'Brien says something like "one day we're going to look around and find that one of us isn't going to be here anymore, and on that day we're going to mourn." and the camera pans right over to Jadzia.

I really enjoy all the DS9 intros, as the intro grows as the station does. A lonely outpost the first couple of seasons with a relatively bare tune to match. And then the intro is busier as the station becomes hugely important. My only frustration is that they didn't change the imagery to be a bunch of Galors and Jem'hadar warships zooming around during the Terok Nor arc.
