a phishing email that the government took credit for combined with russian news videos getting retweets is the extent of the russia hack. the only people really concerned about russia in earnest are a few people in the pentagon who piss their pants when russia spends more money on submarines than we do, and are looking for any excuse to paint them as a threat so they can fund more naval research projects for bubble and surface rather than dumping the money in naval air research. the dems are going to use this as a way to justify going into syria because they want a national, "gently caress russia and it's allies for trump" narrative, because they're obsessed with military intervention to prevent russia from gaining more allies and arms buyers in the middle east. this stuff was made for all the middle/upper middle class defense contractors who obsess over russia because they served during the cold war and the people around them who think they're smart.

what exactly did the M4A proposal leave out about disability that was a concern, or was it just that a twitter account I'd not heard of until this incident with sub 3k followers didn't get contacted? not trying to be dismissive if there are real concerns in the proposal itself, but I am genuinely curious because I could see the oversight being the result of that WG not being exactly visible. it is good they're being contacted now because they receive the feedback and act on it, but if a work group with about the same amount of visiblity as loving DSA Dog Rates was overlooked in the decision making, the whole, "they're trying to silence the disabled community" cries are a little dramatic. it's hilarious though seeing the comrades immediately go bloodthirsty about the fourth host of cum town saying something lovely on the TL in defense of her group's work because of this relatively unheard of work group wasn't contacted. i wouldn't be angry if she never brings it up, but it'd be cool if she does apologize for solidarity sake.

it's almost like people shouldn't broadcast their meltdowns and allow themselves private moments to wait and see if something is truly an issue or a miscommunication. i wouldn't judge the entire DSA off the tumblr army who's entire life is arguing online and maybe give credit to people creating policy proposals and you know, making sure their work group has the correct info out there. Also maybe look at the usefulness of a disability work group that doesn't do anything for disabled members but post about ableism. Instead of working with chapters to provide better live streaming solutions for meetings and actually finding places for the chapter to meet that everyone can get to, let's just post. amber might be trolling and trying to rile these folks up because they're pissing her off, but she's right about them doing nothing but trying to erode structures so that their pretend contributions can be acknowledged.

if the M4A committee isn't a paid position, her losing the official status isn't that big an issue considering she would probably be unofficially involved in conversations, because the petition can't really stop unofficial involvement as its requesting. i don't think any of the folks are going to cast amber out and not take her feedback if they saw her as an important enough voice to be on the committee in the first place. i get removal request, but the, "officially or unofficially involved" part of the petition is just asking folks to stop being friends with the mean lady.
