Reassuring to know that even in Earth-2 where Hilldawg won, we'd still be led by a president with no firm grasp on the truth or reality.

Maybe it didn't land as well, but I thought it was funny how they were painstakingly deconstructing every single last element of Huckabee's tweets to try and find a shred of humor, or getting intensely agitated about who knows more about frozen ground deer meat. Felt in line with Cross's stuff like, well, pretty much all of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, cringing your way through a painful situation so horrible it comes all the way around to being funny again.

I don't know anything about the movie beyond the Wikipedia plot summary, but I guess it also whitewashes WWI from being a pile of convoluted aristocratic jackassery and imperialism into A GOD DID IT, but that's also pretty typical Hollywood blockbuster fare, I can't imagine it being that surprising or upsetting.

Gonna throw in my hat for Arsenal For Democracy, a news/interview show very much in the vein of This Is Hell, and Dumb People Town, a comedy podcast with stupidly good rapport between the hosts; 2 of the 3 are twin brothers who sound and act almost identical, to the point where they constantly speak in unison or finish each other's sentences even while improvising, it's both funny and terrifying.

I don't think he's entirely wrong, insofar as the podcast isn't necessarily "advancing socialism", but that's also not the point; that's like all the people who used to view the Daily Show as some great source of news or liberalism or whatever, when it's just a comedy show that enjoys poking fun of entrenched, vapid, hypocritical elites and institutions as informed by their political perspective. Occasionally they might try to explain or enlighten listeners as to the reasoning behind the joke, but I certainly wouldn't consider Chapo as a particularly informative or educational show. As it stands, it's a real fun listen that encourages people to think critically of standing media and political narratives, and to push them in a left direction, while leaving it to the listener to educate themselves further about how and what that means, and that's not a bad thing, but it's also not the end-all-be-all of socialism as Marry seems to think they're trying to be.

For any left-leaning folks who also like dry, wonky analysis explaining why socialism is a good thing, try the Wide Left podcast. It's a couple of former college debate nerds who go in-depth on why leftist politics are both sensible and beneficial to everyone, they're definitely nowhere near as much fun as the dry boys, but are a nice middle ground to recommend to centrists who may be sympathetic to leftism while being put off by all those mean ol' Chapos.
