That was a surprisingly good season opener. We've all been burned by this show but I am cautiously excited about the documentary gimmick. It looks like a good way to force Ryan Murphy to stay on the rails.

At least until the reveal that the studio is actually in Hell and they all died or something

Are the cops in on it, or is that guy just a coward? If they aren't in on it those are the most useless cops ever. Useless cops are a staple of horror, but these guys are terrible.

He's probably not "In on it" as in he deliberately left them to be sacrificed, but the local police probably tell stories to each other about weird poo poo going down around that house and if you see any of it you should just run while you can

*I don't fully buy the real characters motivations for going back, at least the way they were presented. But I'm going to let it slide since everything else was so entertaining.

The only thing I don't buy is them being surprised that it was the blood moon. That seems like something they'd know just by reflex

I thought that was one of the cleanest endings they ever did.

The first couple, dead
The actors, dead
Lee, dead
Police rescuing Flora, about to be DEAD...

This is true and it did a great job tying up loose ends, however I think it would have been way better (Or at least way less scattershot) if they only spent five minutes establishing what happened to Lee in the interim before spending the rest of the finale alone in the house trying to get her daughter back
