So where is this "bad webcomics thread?" Sounds like fun.
Go nuts. DBD stopped getting posted because it's terrible in a way that isn't even interesting, it just sucks.

There was a suicide bombing :(

Edit: wait, no, that was Baghdad. I guess they're being shot into the air?
There was a mass shooting in Istanbul on New Year's Day.

Not that this sentiment really breaks new ground but I'm really loving sick of the "boy 2016 sure sucked!" excuse for a joke being so endlessly regurgitated. There was a rant to this effect on The Worst Things for Sale -- it got a little too into the topic but expressed a similar sentiment.

Everyone's been hopping on this train, from random YouTube commenters to Twitter personalities, but just for the sake of relevancy, let's assume you're a nationally syndicated cartoonist. You have the power to reach, with your words, an audience so vast that an uncountable many people would envy your voice.
You could say something profound, but instead let's just go with "gosh 2016 was so bad!!" Nailed that one. Great job.
The study linked is titled On the reception and detection of pseudo-profound bullshit and I haven't read the full paper yet, but the title intrigues me.

Once again, the Nazi writes a comic where he fails to realize he's made the "wrong" person the sympathetic, correct one. It's like his thought process is so different he actually thinks that this is going to do anything but masturbate teh egos of fellow fascists.
I definitely get the impression that he's well aware that his only audience is like-minded people, and he's entirely fine with that.

Back when I worked at a hotdog joint, if you asked for everything (not including chili/sauerkraut/cheese/etc., those were specific extras) you'd get everything except ketchup because ketchup+mustard+relish+hot sauce+onions+pickle was too sloppy and ketchup is meh. Personally, I'll put ketchup on a hotdog, but only if there aren't any alternatives. A ketchup'd dog is better than a nude one.

Yes, single payer means taxes pay for healthcare and not just taxes from schlubby white political cartoonists, contrary to the beliefs of schlubby white political cartoonists.
This is a great comic, because I can't tell whether Gorrell is so stupid that he thinks that he found out the terrible secret of UHC, or so sleazy that he'll plop [single payer healthcare] into his [sad taxpayer template] to make it look bad. Maybe both? Man does Gorrell suck.

It's a parody (not really sure if you knew), but I'm pretty sure it's accurate to Kirschen's actual beliefs.

while i'm sure the subtlety is lost on most newspaper readers and possibly also on the cartoonist, I appreciate that he drew the Cadeuceus (symbol of Hermes, the god of merchants and commerce, and the one who escorts the dead to Hades) instead of the Rod of Asklepios (symbol of healing and medicine). A particularly GC
A lot of hospital and medical things (in the US at least) use the Caduceus rather than the Rod of Asklepios. Something something American healthcare

What loving point does Gorrell even think he's making here?
I guess that radical Muslims are willing to kill moderate Muslims? I assume his intention here is to say "Islam/Muslims in general are bad" but he's failing badly at it.
