So if he will be adamant about no one being able to continue his work, the TV show might be the only source of an ending for the series we'll get? If we assume that he releases TWOW 2018/2019 the predicted release date of DoS would be somewhere around 2030, when GURM is around 80. So it might happen.

I guess the best explanation is that he was waiting to build a big enough army of the dead over a long period of time before attacking. My favorite part was that Whip Snake got the drop on Euron two times, but because she is fighting with a loving whip instead of an actual weapon, she is now dead. Oh is it just me or is Emilia Clarke a really lovely actress that has about one expression, which is fitting for nothing but season one episode 1-3 Dany?

I don't think Cersei will battle Dany this season - anything that happens wrt battles will be skirmishes/battles between lesser forces. They had to show the weapon this soon to offer some credible threat to Dany's nukes.

Pump it up! Do it! posted:Littlefinger is probably the worst character in the show, I mean the dude is a creepy retard who just needlessly antagonizes powerful people. Which is pretty much the opposite of what he is in the books, in the books everyone likes him and Jaime even thinks that he would make a great hand of the king. The weirdest thing is that Aidan Gillen isn't a lovely actor either in other shows. His character in The Wire pretty much is book Littlefinger and he was brilliant as being superficially extremely charming but underneath a real shithead. The issue is that they simplified all the narratives in the show so much, that there simply is no plotting or intrigue after season 4. It's comically bad people being comically bad until they get dick slapped by the very good people or vice versa. On some GoT podcast they said that Aiden Gillen has hinted at his displeasure with the writing in the later seasons, so that might be a reason why he is going to get the Selmy treatment of an unfulfilling death

What is Dany going to do with the Dothraki after she is finished conquering Westeros? It seems that having a horde that is accustomed to raping and pillaging and doesn't speak the native language would be somewhat complicated and I doubt that the crown will have the income to have a standing army of 60k mounted fighters.

So in this season Davos is going to find Gendry in KL, where he is working as blacksmith again (keep in mind that Cersei wants him killed) and has him row his boat back to Dragonstone - where not only Mel is hanging out, who might want to burn him, but also a certain Dragon queen, who might want to burn him because he is the son of the usurper who killed her brother.

It's funny how all the ~great schemers~ basically only sucked since season 5: LF: - Gives Sansa to Boltons, where she gets raped - Bets on Stannis, who gets 20 manned - Secures victory in the North for Jon, for which he gets basically degraded to court jester with regards to his influence. - dies Tyrion: - almost loses Mereen - gets the Unsullied trapped on Casterly Rock Queen of Thrones: - gets her family nuked - allies with Dany only to see her castle and lands sacked and looted - dies Varys: - helps Tyrion lose Mereen - forges an alliance between Dany and Dorne/Reach, who get destroyed asap - gets constantly poo poo on by Red Priestesses Roose Bolton: - dies

More importantly though, if Olenna knew she did not have good fighters, shouldn't they have made a plan to get the gold to safety or have given her some officers from Dorne to command her troops?

Jeb! Repetition posted:That's probably what he does in Winds of Winter. In the books he explicitly ruled out marrying/loving Sansa himself and plans to marry her to Harry the Heir. It has to be said that he is much more self-aware in the books, where he recognizes the fact that everyone sees him as a ruthless schemer and sees the value of having public support - in contrast to the show where he seems to think that backstabbing a popular ruler makes you the next popular ruler... then again, that seems to be the rule in the show. Sydin posted:Yeah even if Ramsey was honestly a standup guy who would have treated Sansa well, Littlefinger sending his most precious political chip to the Boltons made zero sense. By Littlefinger's own admission, Sansa is/was the key to the North. Why wouldn't he marry her himself, use his recently acquired loyal Vale Knights to go reclaim her birthright and install her as Queen/Warden of the North, and then have both the North and the Vale in his pocket? Plus he'd get to bang his replacement for Cat as a bonus. I read somewhere that they wrote season 5 as they were filming, so maybe they planed on having LF ride in to aid Stannis and rescue Sansa, which would have made at least some sense, but changed their mind for reasons unknown. It's like the Arya in Braavos plot, which too could have ended a season early, but didn't. GaussianCopula fucked around with this message at 10:51 on Aug 5, 2017 |
