Hah, yeah appreciate how that read. I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that there's a long and justified association of establishment politicians to institutional racism and some of the more unconventional elements of Corbyn's way of doing things has helped counteract that

But yes I appreciate that I might as well have gone "lol hippity hoppors" for how I phrased that

I am aware of the issue of brigades and their horrible effects but it is not a 'concerted effort' of a 'regressive left' and exists on all elements of the political spectrum. Outraged idiots is not a left-wing nor right-wing phenomenon and taking a counter-social justice position in response is the action of a coddled baby.

It's kind of like how Harris used excessive force when fighting the Germans who were gassing people all over the place. Though since learning of you, I've softened a great deal on Harris.

In reality it's just that shooting a civilian by accident is the kind of thing you generally don't want to do, even if it can't be avoided. Hence 'whoops' - a statement we make when we do something unintended.

Election to be decided by 100 seats where no one has actually done any polling.

Northern seats tend to show a Labour lead in polling crosstabs. Of course, without proper polling methodology that could well be crap due to lack of weighting.

That was in 2003. The people out protesting Iraq are in their early to mid 30s now. Youth voters from today will have been somewhere between 4 and 10 at the time, and probably not paying that much attention to politics.

Tuition fees might have been a bigger one. Lib-Dems betrayal on tuition fees would have hit when current young voters were around 13-17, and that was a real "Politicians can't be trusted, even on the things that they have explicitly promised to do" moment.

In the run-up to 2010 when I was trying to get old schoolmates to vote they were peddling the old 'they're all the same' line which continued into 2015. There's a chance for 2017 to break from that... hopefully in a good way.
