We need an age cap. If your average life expectancy means you probably won't last a full term, then you don't get a vote. Sensible older people will see the logic, it will be the OLD, LOUD, AND FRIGHTENED who kick off about it and they are exactly the people we want to exclude. Boomer generation are now firmly in this category.

Will cut out all of the bullshit where governments build policy around people who are nearly dead because they know they are the biggest voting block, and force them to concentrate on the youth and long term policy.

My nan is 90 today , she's not old, venerable and wise. she can't figure out how her boiler works and organised a boycott of a local pub because they put the Wednesday pensioners special up by £1 without giving anyone warning. According to my nan It would have been ok if they had told everyone a few weeks before, but because they only put it on the board on the Monday their business had to fail (which it did) as a punishment or something(????). These people can vote.

After Brexit and Trump's election, I genuinely want an age cap. It's bullshit that these people will die in five or ten years, but they get to gently caress over the next generations one last time before they go.

Also, the story of your nan is horrifying.

It makes me mad that the Tories ate up all of the UKIP vote, but the mildly social democratic / centrist Liberal Democrats continue to dick around and spoil things for Labour.

Now to be fair due to her illness she's on large amounts of steroids and painkillers and it does affect her perception of things, but she votes. She is still convinced there is no money for any spending, that Labour borrowing caused the worldwide economic crash, and if you tax higher earners more it won't encourage people to better themselves.

The Tories took away her disability money. I doubt she is the only one who thinks this way.

If there was hope, it MUST lie in the 18-24 year olds, because only there in those swarming disregarded masses, 85 per cent of the population of Twitter, could the force to elect someone who wasn't a total poo poo ever be generated.

Winston thought about this for a while, and then opened the loving window and jumped out to his death.

After seeing the headlines about how May wants to regulate the internet and clicking on those superficial Facebook news links, I realized that I still had no idea what policies are being proposed by the Tories. That's when I found this article from Forbes a few days ago (prior to the most recent London terrorist attack):
