I heard a rumor that there might be armor items that reduce or outright negate certain Pokemons' elemental weaknesses.

I'm just disappointed that after all this time they didn't make an Electric/Steel form based on a moment from the Adventure manga when Rotom possessed an action figure.

Alxprit posted:Colosseum and XD weren't made by Game Freak. That explains most of it I'd say. It's obvious what the solution is: have Game Freak remake those 2 games and then they can be bumped up to mainline status! Zuzie posted:At this point, they've made a distinction that Mythicals (who are usually aren't available in-game) aren't the same as Legendaries (who usually are available for capture in-game). Also with the introduction of Meltan, who is classed as a Mythical, I think its safe to say that Phione is a Mythical and not a Legendary. Do you know if there's a term that covers both Legendary Pokemon and Mythical Pokemon?

Zuzie posted:"Ultra Beast" is a term in the same way that "starter", "fossil", "Legendary" and "Mythical" are. They're all used to classify and organize Pokémon into different groups based on common factors like how they're obtained and their general strength. What about Pseudo-Legendary?

I was thinking about several things and an amusing thought came to me. First was whether or not the gen 4 remakes would come out in gen 8, then that rumor about armor items being introduced, and that's when it clicked for me. If armor is being made for Pokemon, then what material would that armor be made from? Arceus' plates! Yes, it would turn out that those plates were once part of a whole suit of armor that Arceus wore but was destroyed and its pieces fell upon the Earth. I even have a name for that original armor: the Infinity Armor.

Silver2195 posted:Speaking of Eeveelutions and Pokemon names, what should the English names of the inevitable Eeveelutions for the remaining types be? While a lot of the existing ones are just a word associated with the type + Eon rather than actual wordplay, most of them at least sound good (with Leafeon being the exception), and I like the way Flareon can be read as either Flare + Eon or Flare + On. My ideas:

My headcanon when I was a kid was that Lance wasn't training his Pokemon since he's champion/elite 4, they got lazy, and their levels slipped down because of that.

I doubt they would ever do such a mechanic, but I imagined a system where leaving a Pokemon in the box for too long caused them to become out of shape and lazy. They would lose a maximum of 20 levels and attacks work 50% of the time and you either have to whip them back to shape yourself with much anguish and yelling at them or put them in daycare/a specialist to fix them.

They changed the mechanics pretty massively and aren't compatible with any other mainline entry for transferring Pokemon to/from so that's a bizarre distinction the Pokemon company made. And we still don't even have any confirmation we'll be able to transfer the Pokemon within to Gen VIII games. Only Game Freak games are mainline.
