Rip Testes posted:It is just amazing how ardent they are about the presumption of innocence when it comes to the President but it often means gently caress all when it comes to most anyone else. It is such a farce how the legal system is being framed as some sacred institution when it clearly is not. I was thinking this same thing wrt Hillary Clinton

VH4Ever posted:So are we really going to just give this guy a timeout and let him dump his SELF ADMITTED Nazi bullshit on these fora in six little hours? Really? I'm just checking on behalf of the group here. I've no interest in reading bad faith trolling from a goddamn Nazi. IMO permaban this guy's dick into the dirt. TIA Usually probations like this are done by thread admins when no regular mod is on. When the regular mods login they will usually takes care of the ban

I like how he can't even contemplate that other people might be ok with sharing the spotlight or supporting their friends. Everything is about winning and loving losing.

Nocturtle posted:Has anything substantial been done to improve the conditions at the border camps? There were those high-profile congressional representative visits, did anything come of those? I ask because I saw this article about a mumps outbreak in the camps and it sounds just as bad as ever: Spoilers for the final episode of the TV Series Years and Years Years and Years is an excellent 6 part mini series from the BBC. It starts in 2019 in Britain and goes through roughly 10 years of society. During the time there is a Trumpian politician that ends up gaining political power, by using similar Trump methods (accusing media of fake news, appealing to racism, working with Russia etc). In the final episode it's revealed that her plan for the migrant "concentration camps" is to let them all die of disease. But it will be more they will die because the gov't doesn't do anything to stem diseases. It ends up that a number of refugees end up dying in these camps, which is all to her liking. It ends with Viv getting arrested for her crimes against humanity. Years and Years is really good but holy gently caress it gave me anxiety.

Funniest goddamn thing about that tweet is that was the exact point of the article. Trump did do stuff over the summer, but his missteps totally overshadowed anything he could point to accomplishment wise. Off topic but I hope the next Presidential administration says that they have done more in "X amount of time" than any other administration in history.
