When I say �do well� I mean with viewers. I think Mayor Pete has qualities that resonate with voters that will come across in the debates. And the pundit class.

Now I wish it wasn�t the case, but I expect him to try high marks.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Biden dump on Buttigieg over the police brutality stuff in order to try to regain some credibility after the segregationist comments. I think Pete is going to have a night similar to Beto's.

Pete is way more of a talented speaker and quicker on his feet than Beto.

But hey hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

It would be idiotic to attack Biden and be seen as going �negative� or else doing something which might be seen as opportunistic. He�s well-liked among primary voters, so I think it would just sink you, even if it harms him.

The smart thing to do is to raise contrasts that reflect poorly on Biden while establishing yourself as a more effective alternative. This goes for every candidate on stage up there.

People might not know that's a contrast with Biden though unless you point it out.

"i voted against the bankruptcy bill that made it harder for people to file for bankruptcy while Biden voted for it" is an important contrast people need to know.
