Schiff is trash, but the FBI has been sort of wild about Trump investigations. The NYT said back in January that the FBI did start an investigation if Trump, in his actions as president, was a counter-intelligence threat. This would presumably be based on their opposition to Trump's half-assed attempts at d�tente with Russia. Which seems to mean that the FBI considers itself to have veto power over foreign policy.

I don't think this means a coup is gonna happen or Q will reveal himself or anything. Just more evidence that the FBI is basically acting on it's own accord at the moment.

The explicit goal of the investigations, laid out in one contract with Black Cube, signed in July, was to stop the publication of the abuse allegations against Weinstein that eventually emerged in the New York Times and The New Yorker. Over the course of a year, Weinstein had the agencies �target,� or collect information on, dozens of individuals, and compile psychological profiles that sometimes focussed on their personal or sexual histories. Weinstein monitored the progress of the investigations personally. He also enlisted former employees from his film enterprises to join in the effort, collecting names and placing calls that, according to some sources who received them, felt intimidating.

In some cases, the investigative effort was run through Weinstein�s lawyers, including David Boies, a celebrated attorney who represented Al Gore in the 2000 Presidential-election dispute and argued for marriage equality before the U.S. Supreme Court. Boies personally signed the contract directing Black Cube to attempt to uncover information that would stop the publication of a Times story about Weinstein�s abuses, while his firm was also representing the Times, including in a libel case.

Black Cube was also hired by Trump's people to go after Obama's former staff to help undermine the Iran deal.

I didn't realize that Ehud Barak was close to Black Cube. Considering he's also on the record as going to Epstein's island, thats sort of notable.

Lol and of course Netenyahu is trying to use the Epstein case as part of his election campaign. Barak gave a goofy interview to the Daily Beast, basically the mouthpiece for the liberal wing of US intelligence, in an attempt to fight the bad publicity. I have no idea why he thinks any of his answers make him look better.

Barak recalls having visited Epstein at two of his Manhattan residences and said he did visit Epstein�s private Caribbean island �once, for several hours�and years after the publications about sex parties or orgies there.� But, Barak says, �I've never been there at a party.�

�To the contrary,� Barak says, �at his home, I met many very respected people, scientists, Nobel Prize winners, and I met him also in Boston, at MIT or the Harvard labs he supports.�

Last year, an Israeli investigative journalist revealed that in 2004 Barak received about $2.4 million earmarked �research� from the Wexner Foundation, an American philanthropy with which Epstein was long associated, that focuses on developing leadership skills among young Israeli and American Jewish citizens deemed to have potential. Barak says he does not know if Epstein had any connection to the grant or payment he received, and in several past interviews has refused to explain what he was compensated for.

�I did what I committed to do,� he told The Daily Beast, adding that he does recall the details of the contract, but believes he �is not supposed to discuss it.�

�I perform research and geopolitical consulting for a lot of interested parties,� says the former prime minister and decorated former chief of staff of Israel�s army, who is now 77 years old. �It is up to them if they want to discuss it.�

The Wexner Foundation has declined numerous media requests to provide any explanation for the 2004 payment.

Last week, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz revealed that Epstein was a principal investor in Carbyne, a video streaming and geolocation software start-up founded by Barak in 2015. The extent of Epstein�s financial involvement has not been made public, and Barak has since said he is exploring avenues to disassociate himself from Epstein completely.

It's been a while, but from what I remember Legacy of Ashes leans pretty heavily into the idea that the problem with the CIA was that they were brutal and incompetent. It's this sort of liberal understanding that the concept of the CIA as an instrument of US imperialism is fine, but it was just run badly.

For example, the books critiques the CIA smuggling fascist guerrillas into the USSR after WW2 on the grounds that the fascists were caught, not that the plan was evil in the first place.

Also, I think it sort of implied the Cubans killed JFK.

I remember there was some theorizing a few years ago that chan sites were useful to the Feds because the way they hosted both blatantly illegal material and hackers/Anonymous types increased the chances that some of the latter would be caught downloading or posting some of the former. So if the Feds were even able to turn just one member of some hacking group into an informant, they would be able to roll up the rest of the group relatively easily, or direct the actions of the group towards targets they dislike. Like encouraging them do Anonymous branded campaigns against US enemies like Libya or Syria, instead of Bank of America.

Of course this was from the twitter posters who were deep into "Domestic Gladio" conspiracies, and I don't remember any evidence to back it up.
