I guess I hadn't read that far in the books when I watched the first couple of seasons. IIRC they mention it in the very first episode... yeah, I don't remember the episode but Avasarala has a conversation with her grandson about it. "I worry about people who throw rocks."

everyone loves Ghost Miller. I feel like the show is going to diverge from the books in some pretty significant ways going forward. there's some stuff in the later books that I don't think you can really do in a tv show.

didn't they start as actual physical creatures and then get "uploaded" or whatever. Miller says something along the lines of how it's a privilege to actually have a corporeal body and that not everyone is important enough to get assigned one.
