Turns out the sprinkler was in a garage where a person had closed the garage door and left the car running for hours. Somehow no CO detectors in the building went off, but luckily the garage got hot enough that it activated a single sprinkler which signaled the fire dept to show up.

This was at a 20 unit condo building, all adjoining interior hallways. The FD recorded over 1000 ppm of CO on the third floor.

Amazingly the building was almost completely empty and no one was hurt. Though it was an intense hour as the FD went room to room looking for any casualties.

It took 2 hours of ventilation with FD fans before they could get the PPM down to safe levels.

That's horrifying. How many CO detectors missed that???

Typically right of way goes to the vehicle going uphill. On flat then to the larger vehicle or if they are the same then to the one who must reverse the most to get out of the way.
