Overall I'm satisfied with the plot resolutions of Rise of Skywalker despite being the movie itself being a complete mess that felt like I was watching 5 hours worth of 2 movies running at 2x speed. I thought the retcons were mostly fine. Killing off Snoke left a villain vacuum right before the big finale, and while Rey's parents being no one and what that says about dynasties vs anyone capable of being a hero is a cool thing to explore, it just didn't fit into a 9 movie narrative called the Skywalker Saga IMO. That's absolutely a theme that should be picked up in some new trilogy that doesn't have all of the Skywalker baggage associated with it. Rian Johnson seemed like he wanted to make a non Skywalker Star Wars movie, which is fine and cool, but you were making the 8th movie of the Skywalker Saga. Bringing back the Emperor and then destroying the Sith isn't a premise that was ever going to set the world on fire, but hey, at least it wraps up that storyline and we can move onto new stuff. I don't really dislike any Bond movie up through Goldeneye. The tone of the series swings wildly during the Roger Moore era, but I still love them for different reasons. I can watch The Man with the Golden Gun and View to a Kill over and over, even though they're pretty bad movies. Post Goldeneye Brosnan movies just aren't really fun for me. The Daniel Craig era movies are well made, and I loved watching them in theaters, but I have little reason to go back to them. I spend a lot of time wondering what more Timothy Dalton movies would have looked like, or what it would have looked like for Pierce Brosnan to come in after Roger Moore. I'm supposed to be packing for a cross-country move.

I scored a copy of Body Double on VHS today. I mostly have all the horror movies on VHS that I’m interested in so now my collecting has turned to whatever weird erotic thrillers turn up at thrift shops

I’m on a road trip to drive my stuff up from Austin to NJ and I stopped off at a car museum in Tennessee for cars from movies and tv. For some reason this was on the wall They also had a lot of memorabilia from the movie Norbit for some reason
