Anyone doing the sale tasks? Invite a Friend to Play a Game is the only one I haven't done and it doesn't seem to be working.

EDIT: Nevermind, turns out that even though the invite option is always visible, you have to actually be in a game lobby for it to do anything and thus unlock the quest. I had previously tried it from the main menu of Dota 2, but I guess that didn't work because it uses it's own UI for sending invites instead of the Steam UI.

I’m playing read dead 2 on steam with a ps4 dual shock.

The game prompts are coded to what appears to be Xbox controls. (Ex/ letters instead of shapes).

The game prompts me to hit a button with 3 horizontal stripes.

I cannot for the life of me figure out what button that is.

Apologies if there is something obvious I’m missing, but help?!

For some reason the Xbox One replaced the Start and Back buttons from the 360 with Menu and View.

Games have been using them for years and I still get unsure which one is which when a game tells me to press one.

The worst part of all this is you can't even download the original Warcraft 3 any more. There's a link on the battle.net website that looks like it'd do that, but it actually downloads all 30GB of Reforged and you just can't play with the new graphics.

You'll need a plugin to list all of your cards at once.

The problem is that it breaks the plug-and-play stuff for a lot of games with controllers in a way that’s really hidden and not intuitive. It’s cool that they have settings like that but they should be something you turn on yourself if you’re going to use them.

It's opt-in per controller type. It doesn't do anything to your Xbox controller if you don't enable that.

It lets me use my Switch Pro Controller on PC, so as far as I'm concerned it's great.

You can open search and limit it to games. Of course that doesn't account for any games that aren't available in your region.

It's saying 41,435 for me.

Okay, the quality of the animations did not match Platinum's main games and it had limited enemy variety, but it was still decent.

Although now I'm fighting a boss with a big attack I don't know how to avoid.

I'm fighting Remilia and I don't understand how to avoid the laser grid attack. I can sometimes not get hit by going to the edge of the arena and double jumping and floating, but that doesn't feel like it's how you're supposed to do it.

There are two variations of this attack.

Mid health: That's how I did it. When she shoots the orbs, stop time to get to the edge of the screen (normally left for me), wait and double jump + hover when necessary. Consistent.

Low health: This one I just opted to tank the hit and damage race her. I think it looks possible to stay exactly mid screen and jump according to the laser moving, maybe with time stop, but I killed her before I could test this theory out.

I managed to beat her without finding any better strategy than this.

I went on to finish the game and got the true ending. It took about 7 and a half hours and at least an hour and a half was on the real final boss.

Heat Signature is a real-time with pause top-down heist game that kind of hits on a lot of stuff you mentioned. There's sort of a light "rogue" element to it where your characters can permanently die (or be imprisoned, where then they can be freed with a new character and played again) but there's also a lot of meta RPG progression and, like you described, a big starmap of levels, with a mix of some being procedurally generated and others being hand-designed. The structure is cool, it makes it so there's always SOMETHING you can do to progress, even if you're sick of banging your head against any one challenge

Not a lot of breaking blocks with a ball bounced off a paddle, though.

In case you don't know, clicking the left stick switches your lock-on target.

In Ocarina of Time letting go of lock-on and pressing it again would switch the target and I don't understand how there are still games with lock-on systems that don't do that over 20 years later.

Word of caution: the most popular gyro aim config uses mouse input, which seemingly makes the game think you're using m+kb. This is a problem because it stops you from doing heavy attacks with a controller button, because it's shift+click on m+kb.

Huh, is this a new Steam feature? It's a free Slay the Spire mod but it showed up in the "New and trending" list and gets its own download button and library entry. It's a cool idea (and a great game overhaul mod in this case) but I'm not sure how well it will work if every lovely workshop mod will get its own Steam page. Looking at the news updates for Slay the Spire though it looks like the original devs shouted it out and linked it there, so maybe its' up to the original publisher which mods get their own store page?

There have been Half-Life 2/Source mods downloadable from Steam like that for over a decade.

So, not a new feature, just not one that gets used a lot.
