So, there's no direct evidence from the second panel. I wasted a lot of time looking at that badge on his vest.

Sorry, I thought it would be obvious enough of an edit if I quoted the strip it was an edit of :(

The original is about buying War Bonds, but for some reason I couldn't stop cracking up at the second panel and saved it to occasionally edit onto other strips, because I'm creatively bankrupt:

I've been out of the thread all weekend so I'm still catching up, but I am unreasonably annoyed that the final panel isn't the dog thinking that while actually ramming one of the green pirates

This comic is so lovely, curmudgeonly, and predictable, that I think I'm hooked on it precisely for the strips like these where it bucks expectations in some way or another.

Also I hate to say it but I think Mopsy lost something when it changed format :(

Quite true. Back in the old days cords were very helpful in limiting the damage you could do to your controllers via video game rage.

lmao at people who threw their controllers instead of twisting them until they heard cracks and realized they were maybe TOO mad at a PS2 game

I don't want to toot my own horn here but I can remember when the thread liked One Big Happy and I said it sucked, and a few months later there was a swing to "wow One Big Happy sucks all of a sudden, was it always like this", and here we are now going "was Everett True always a protofascist icon" and, well, yeah, pretty much

I'm gonna be SO pissed if the rabbit in Nekonaughey starts rounding up pink rabbits into gas chambers.

Also I remember years ago, even when I kinda liked OBH, everything with that Bugsy kid really rubbed me the wrong way, so coming back to the thread after a few years' absence and finding it insufferable wasn't a huge shock.

Is it just me or does the art look like it's done by an artist and not a cartoonist? I mean, cartoonists are artists but I think there are common conventions they all use and this strip really throws me a "I usually do paintings or scenery sketches" and not three-panel daily stories.

I haven't been paying attention to this one since I fell behind on the thread by about a week, but iirc one of its many issues is that the artist was a commercial illustrator and had a hard time keeping up with the schedule.
