Lol the problem is I never got a letter or anything with a username on, just a call from my GP, and the site doesn't recognise any of my details.

I think the system was changed midway through because I had a call for the first dose, but then I was about a week out from being 12 weeks after that and heard nothing. I called my GP but apparently they couldn't do anything and it was all done by a central office now. The national helpline couldn't find my details, and I ended up having to wait on hold for hours on very poorly advertised local vaccination advice number before I arranged dose 2.

So it seems a good bet I've fallen through the cracks in the official documentation, which is cool.

Yeh it did change on you - I’ve escorted and arranged 30 or so jabs for the vulnerable and it was a pain in the arse with the ones who got classified as vulnerable off of that diabetes algorithm they ran.

The NHS app should update almost immediately with your vaccination status, it records everything on the system via your NHS number with the date and batch data on it as well. You should have your card with the sticker on it, if your vaccination status is not showing on the app then you have to get your GP to update your records manually using that card.

Rural Tories are angry over the extended lockdown, I get it because this county isn’t that far away from a huge outbreak but people in tiny villages are FEWMIN. It will boil down to if people hold on to that anger or it blows over when everything opens up.

Amersham isn't "rural" though. It's on the tube map, FFS, the only thing that stops it being Upminster or Finchley is that the NIMBYs managed to get in much, much earlier and freeze it at "small commuter town" size. Now they talk about new development "ruining the character of the town" without ever examining why the character of the town is "every single building is almost exactly the same age, and all of them were built within 5 years of the train station opening", and also about HS2 going through the area.

Anyone living in Metroland complaining about encroaching urbanisation - let alone about a new train line coming through - should be ground into a fine paste and used to lubricate the wheels of the trains that are the literal only reason for the existence of their lovely little towns.

I have some good and happy urban development news. They are unfucking what beeching did to Derbyshire and the first stage is to turn the Chesterfield to Sheffield freight line (goes via barrow hill, renishaw and Crystal peaks) back into a branch line, it’s a “holy poo poo it’s actually happening” thing with stations being built and everything.

I have never seen so many police stations in my life as I have on the supertram from halfway to the arena. Like Sheffield is not a crime ridden city at all and the only thing I can think is that they are hives for football policemen.

Is there a less legit way of ripping the stream from the bbc site to an mp3 that I could email him each week? I feel guilty now because he bought the mp3 player.

I would make him “mix tapes” yourself for his MP3 player as a thoughtful gift, and buy the cheapest smartphone you can find at cash converters and show him how to download his podcasts via wireless.

I really don't wanna upgrade, because it seems so wasteful when this phone does literally everything I need it to. Other than recharge.

Does the thread hive mind have any suggestions about what I could do? It doesn't seem like an easy fix.

It’s a £20 fix if you go to the Indian lads on the market/your local equivalent run by Indian lads.

The answer is preventable childhood disease. Rickets, smallpox, whooping cough, measles, rubella, mumps, polio, yellow fever, diphtheria, cholera have all been eradicated in the UK - but it took 200 years from the invention of the smallpox vaccine for even that to disappear.

Western medicine people say it would be because the wool catches a lot of pollen, and the jumper being too small slightly constricts breathing which would also help.

Here’s how stupid she seems to me and people can throw this back at TERFs.

My brother has Dwarfism, but not the type people think of, his is Proportionate dwarfism and when he was a child he was tiny but externally he just looked small (internally he’s still a mess of wrong sized organs) plus he had issues with his glands so he stopped growing at 7 but was the size of a 4 year old.

However, some of his issues were treatable with artificial growth hormones till they could let the testosterone take over.

So from age 7-14 he was pumped full of HGH and puberty blockers.

According to TERFs he’s biologically 3ft 4 and unable to have children.

Which is a surprise to him given that he’s 5ft 8 and has two teenage girls and a newborn baby boy.

Gove’s 53 which makes him a young Tory as section 28 was in full swing, most of the other tories mentioned were old enough to be “one rule for them one rule for me” tories during that time. Poor bastard.

Yeah the whole baby thing was my thinking for why folk should maybe be a bit considerate. The folks that are are egging them on to make it louder seem to be folk on the estate wither without kids or with older ones. It's one of those things where they'd probably have been annoyed by the noise a few years earlier but it doesn't affect them now so they don't care.

I mean i dunno how loud is too loud, but some of the parties have had music/life DJ's/musicians that i could hear a few streets away. At one point i thought it was someone was streaming the music to two separate houses as i could hear it both in front and behind mine with a slight delay. Turns out it was just some weird echo effect it was generating that you could hear it across the whole estate.

The one that was on this afternoon, my partner said she could hear it over the music she was listening to on her headphones when she was out for a walk nearby.

Like i said, it doesn't really impact me directly, but when i see folk on the facebook group basically being told to shut up and get hosed (even if it is impacting them), i kinda want to support them but not get put on the shitlist for having what seems like a reasonable "maybe be a bit considerate" point of view.

The whole cocaine situation is damning enough of Gove and his ilk.

I've heard he was actually quite pleasant to work with as environment secretary though from a civil servant, which kind of makes him feel worse to me. He apparently actually listened and cared. It's like he has a genuinely decent inner child crushed by a loving odious, duplicitous self-serving ambition.

Verifying citation.

I know people who know Gove and the general opinion is that he’s a incredibly competent department head, the policies he may be enacting may be evil but he’s the one you want to work with as a boss.

His issue is that he’s a “Machiavellian little bugger” who wants to be PM, the general opinion is if he dropped that ambition and just concentrated on a single civil service department then you would at the very least see decent interdepartmental reforms and the right people promoted like he did at the department of education and department of environment and that’s the kind of unnoticed boring graft that does matter and has been neglected by shitheals like Hancock.

Anyway this is going to show my age but the Tory old guard think he’s the 2021 Norman Tebbit.
