"Workers must curb wage demands, says Bank governor The governor of the Bank of England tells the BBC that workers negotiating their pay this year should not ask for too high a rise in order to help bring inflation under control. Andrew Bailey says he is concerned that higher pay will lead to rising inflation and could become ingrained in the economy. "We need to see a moderation of wage rises," he says, conceding that the idea would be painful news for workers. "I don't want to sugar that, it is painful. But we need to see that in order to get through this problem more quickly," he says." Not just "you can't have a rise" but "don't even loving ask you cunts".

When it comes to Gove, try to ignore his tenure at Environment where apparently he was ok, and look instead at his time at Education where he was a disaster of historic proportions, the effects of which are still being felt today by my kids and hundreds of thousands of others.

Luke Pollard was posting about returning to the shadow front bench which led me to look up who the outgoing MP was, and it was Kinnock. I hoped he'd been kicked out or resigned in shame or something but no, turns out he's now shadow immigration minister https://twitter.com/Obscurantistx/status/1489320700435439620?t=oMwJGsL57Lb_eC9tGphojg&s=09

Carrie has said she doesn't know if he raped her or not, only that she was drugged by him and can't remember anything else. Not that it really changes much, it's still an awful thing to have happened and it will undoubtedly still be used as ammo. WhatEvil posted:Whether you give a poo poo or not, freezing the payment thresholds is still relevant. Used to be that as average pay went up, so did the thresholds for when you start paying/how much you pay back - same as how your personal allowance/tax-free amount goes up every year with inflation. Not anymore. Your graduate tax just went up in real terms, and it'll continue to go up, and even those who currently don't earn enough to be paying them back will soon enough start having to pay some portion, often to go on top of the rest of the effects of inflation giving real-terms pay cuts. This, plus I'd expect the government to flog them off to some bunch of utter bastards like Erudio again, who will make the lives of the loanees absolute hell and trick or cajole them into paying when they don't need to.
