I imagine that putting Kerfoot on the third line is for general depth so long as they're rolling lines, and if things get tight late he'll replace Anderson on the second line. e: I don't like Holl but Liljegren got absolutely cooked last game so I can understand the change.

I feel like there's some room for additional optimism out of that win in that the Leafs weren't very crisp but they also carried the game quite well. I think I saw that the Matthews line had an awful night at evens, whereas the rest of them were quite good.

I was just thinking how similar this team was to the Mogilny Devils, where they had no shortage of offensive talent and could score at will, but still played hyper-defensive choke-the-life-out-of-the-game hockey.

Colorado is a much better north-south team than Toronto or Florida. (This is, incidentally, why Tyson Barrie turned into a pumpkin after the trade.) A couple rounds ago I saw someone comment that Colorado's speed could put pressure on Tampa's increasingly-slow defencemen in ways that Toronto and Florida couldn't.
