The GB Yargle deck has Destined to Lead in it. When you use the frog emblem to sacrifice a creature with temporary invincibility from Destined, the frog will get permanent invincibility.

I have a rules question - what's the rule on how many times a replacement effect can...replace? I'm guessing Procession and Jinnie Fay doesn't create infinite hasty cats, but I could see an argument. Like, you make two goblins, choose to apply procession's replacement effect, make 4 goblins. Choose to apply Jinnie's replacement effect, make 4 cats. But because it's a different set of tokens being made, can Procession double the 4 cats?

Accoridng to the rules, it is not a different set of tokens being made. It is the same set of
tokens having already been subject to both replacement effects.

quote:

614.5. A replacement effect doesn’t invoke itself repeatedly; it gets only one opportunity to affect an event or any modified events that may replace that event.

Example: A player controls two permanents, each with an ability that reads “If a creature you control would deal damage to a permanent or player, it deals double that damage to that permanent or player instead.” A creature that normally deals 2 damage will deal 8 damage—not just 4, and not an infinite amount.

EDIT: I suppose it would be more accurate to phrase it this way: the effects do not apply to the tokens themselves. The effects apply to the event that creates the tokens. The exact nature of the tokens which are ultimately created does not matter because once the tokens are created, the event is over.

I remember people speculating that mono-B will probably suffer in the next expansion since black doesn't get artifact removal and Brother's War will be an artifact set. However, that's months away.

I had a really good winrate and a lot of fun with the goblin deck. It was really hard for the other decks to deal with a board full of goblins including Hordemaster. The dragon deck had an AoE, but hordemaster makes that less good and also if they don't draw it then they are really badly positioned because the only stuff they can play early dies to your 3 damage removal, so you could rush them down pretty reliably. The domain deck was probably the worst matchup because they could use the flash domain lockdown enchantment to exile your hordemaster, then clog the board up with too-big creatures. However, the goblin deck also had several value engines you could use to overwhelm them. I almost never played against the vehicle deck and I think I honestly never matched up against anyone else playing the goblin deck.

Johnny is definitely the deck to play if you want to have fun. Timmy and Vorthos can win games, but usually it’s just because they play a single card that totally ends things for them (Ulamog, Apex of Power, etc.) Johnny makes you find the win.

My opponent just used the Scorpion God's effect on one of my creatures. The creature had several +1/+1 counters on it, but its toughness was reduced to 1 by damage. The Scorpion God's effect destroyed one of its counters, turning it into an x/0 creature, killing it. What I did not expect was that, when this happened, this triggered the Scorpion God's ability and caused my opponent to draw a card. Can someone explain this rules interaction?

Does anyone have any suggestions of cool and/or good cards and combos for a Zur historic brawl deck? Mine is pretty fun but so far it mostly consists of using generic ramp to get good enchantments out and then turn them into big dudes to kill the opponent with. I'm looking for flashier and weirder interactions, like turning a saga into a creature and then flickering/reanimating it.

So like I said before I've been cobbling together decks for the artisan events without the key color. This time it's Fair Basilica with no white and I'm having a lot of fun with it. Here's the list.

Deck
1 Aether Channeler (DMU) 42
1 Gala Greeters (SNC) 148
1 Boseiju Pathlighter (Y22) 26
1 Topiary Stomper (SNC) 160
1 Foundry Groundbreaker (Y23) 13
1 Titan of Industry (SNC) 159
4 Swamp (ONE) 274
6 Forest (ONE) 276
1 Thousand-Faced Shadow (NEO) 86
1 Riddlemaster Sphinx (M20) 317
1 Sludge Monster (MID) 76
1 A-The Meathook Massacre (MID) 112
5 Island (ONE) 273
1 The Hourglass Coven (HBG) 45
1 Graven Archfiend (Y22) 7
1 Citystalker Connoisseur (Y22) 27
1 Kami of Mourning (Y22) 14
1 Follow the Tracks (HBG) 67
1 The Weatherseed Treaty (DMU) 188
1 Essence Scatter (DMU) 49
1 Negate (STA) 18
1 Scatter Ray (BRO) 61
1 Cast Down (HBG) 148
1 Infernal Grasp (MID) 107
1 Ilysian Caryatid (THB) 174
1 Llanowar Loamspeaker (DMU) 170
1 Orochi Merge-Keeper (NEO) 203
1 Slip Out the Back (SNC) 62
1 Gilded Pinions (SNC) 238
1 Skullport Merchant (AFR) 120
1 Prosperous Innkeeper (AFR) 200
1 Jewel Thief (SNC) 151
1 Key to the Archive (Y22) 59
1 The Mightstone and Weakstone (BRO) 238
1 Riveteers Overlook (SNC) 255
1 Obscura Storefront (SNC) 252
1 Maestros Theater (SNC) 251
1 Pilgrim's Eye (HBG) 263
1 Dreamroot Cascade (VOW) 262
1 Yavimaya Coast (DMU) 261
1 Old Rutstein (VOW) 244
1 Deathcap Glade (VOW) 261
1 Llanowar Wastes (BRO) 264
1 Ertai Resurrected (DMU) 199
1 Shipwreck Marsh (MID) 267
1 Toluz, Clever Conductor (SNC) 228
1 Xander's Lounge (SNC) 260
1 Fallaji Archaeologist (BRO) 48

So the idea is basically control the board and ramp into big and powerful enters the battlefield effects. Replace cards with better ones if you have them, for example you can replace the Capenna lands with good duals if you have them. The Capenna lands' effects don't trigger twice because you can only sacrifice them once, I just put them in there for fixing. Here's a sneak peak of what sort of shenanigans you can get up to.

Just played Emrakul and my opponent had Nezahal, Primal Tide in hand along with six other cards. I made them play Nezahal, then activated Nezahal's ability to make them discard three cards. I wanted to activate Nezahal again in response to the first activation, but it would not let me do it, nor would it let me do it at the end of the turn after Nezahal came back. Is there a reason this was the case, or was it a bug?

Or a Battle that both players can Attack and Protect.

They learned their lesson from Tribal. If this batch of battles turns out to be a dud, then instead of having an entire card type become obsolete, they’ll just abandon the subtype and try again with another one.
