putting this here for future reference. in mednafen.cfg, do this to get reasonably accurate looking visuals: - find and replace all instances of ".shader none" with ".shader goat" - find and replace all instances of ".stretch aspect_mult2" with ".stretch aspect" - find and replace all instances of ".correct_aspect 0" with ".correct_aspect 1" i also like to set video.glvsync to 0, but maybe you have a reason to keep that on. there also might be other tweakable stuff to make it better but those are the essentials imo

say what you will about medafen and mame wrt their interface and config files at least they're all in one place and behave in a consistent manner. christ i tried it the other day because i was curious about some of its features and it took a solid 15 minutes to figure out how to start a drat game, psychopaths designed this interface, not mere nerds

im using savestates to attempt to no miss each stage. if i die i reload to the start of the stage. once i get through the first loop that way ill do 1CC attempts
