You know where you are? You're in the suburbs, baby. You're gonna drive.

Goddamn CRAF Missions. Sending us from beautiful southern Spain to the damp and cold of Maine in winter.

We loaded up the ship parts in Rota. It was such a beautiful day and I really did not want to leave. I just wanted to lie on the beach with nothing on but a smile.

Once airborne, I realized I left my coat in the hotel. Maybe management would have a vehicle ready for us at Bangor?

The journey across the Atlantic was its usual boring self, but the sunset was pretty

Finally, we slipped below the incoming rains to land at our destination

With the delivery of these electronic components, HAZMAT including 1.1 and 1.2, radar technician, training and engineering personnel, and General Dynamics employees, select engineering and test operations began at Bath Ironworks. All that remained was to Leonard Francis Glenn to safety so he could work some of his special logistical networks and host a low-key celebration, followed by some final checkout testing at the Atlantic Test Range.

Rattler 1 FLIGHT PLAN

F-16A MLU

OBJECTIVE
Destroy the SA-11 at Coffee Island.

WEATHER
Sky is clear, with unlimited visibility.

INTEL
PLAAF has very few J-11s available, and J-15s have not been this far. We'll likely encounter one or two J-11s, or a few more J-7s since visibility is good for them to fly.

EXECUTION
Milpower takeoff, climb to 30,000. Proceed without delay to DIEGO, then fly to LANUS and wait for strikers to get closer. We hunt the SA-11 with Wild Weasel tactics, and finish it off with JDAMs after HARMing it. F-18s and F-14s provice our CAP.

BINGO: 2500lbs. I understand this is a small amount, but this is a combat environment and we need to hang out here as long as strikers need us. We are unlikely to need multiple instrument approaches since weather is decent, so you have to nail your landing.

WP1: El Calafate, SAWC
WP2: DIEGO
WP3: LANUS
WP4: T1
WP5: T2
WP6: T3
WP7: T4
WP8: T5

Loadout:

1 and 2: JDAMs and AMRAAMs.
3: HARMs.

Combat Air Patrol, north of the fence line which marks the heaviest of the PLA air defences.

Our in depth recon indicates excellent flying conditions.

We will seek to engage enemy fighter craft and protect friendly strikers. We expect to see J7s, and perhaps a few J11s. We have managed tk eliminate a few J11s but expect the PLAAF to continue to field a limited amount.

Pontiac will take off from Rio Turbio with burners as it is a short runway, then immediately throttle back to mil for a climb to angels 32 while on route to our CAP waypoints. We will patrol said waypoints while waiting for a vector to enemy targets. Priority will be keeping situational awareness and not overextending.

Loadout will be 2 x 530Ds, 2 x Magic II, centerline tank, éclair pod for countermeasures.

You have a priority tasking. During your next air operation, we require that your forces execute a task of utmost importance and of high interest to national security. You will pick up a small team of parachute-capable personnel, and several small door bundles at Aeropuerto Internacional de El Calafate, SAWC.

We prefer that they are dropped from two separate aircraft, with cross-loaded cargo to ensure success in case of maintenance failure or mission abort for one aircraft.

They are to be delivered to a dropzone in a valley in the fjords, at coordinates -53.37524055816433, -72.3959873634238.

Ensuring that your aircraft are not detected by radar is paramount, thus it is surely clear that low altitude flight for most of the way will be required. It is up to you to plan the routing and ingress and egress, as long as it gets done. The personnel are capable of LALO.

Mr. Francis was 30 minutes late to get on board my C4J, always a good sign the day is going to be just fine.

Leg 1
Departure from Subic Bay was scenic and nominal. Clear skies gave Mr. Francis a nice view of Manila as we climbed to our cruising altitude.

Arrival into Brunei wasn't terrible, but the skies foretold what was coming for the next leg, that 30 minute delay was going to hurt. Late morning clouds, heavy, dark, pendulous, and swelled with rain, hung around the coast. We could have made this a non-stop flight, the distance to Budiarto Airport was barely over 1500nm, not even a problem. But I guess there was a good reason for the temporary stop here.

Leg 2
While waiting for Mr. Francis to return, I anxiously eyed the weather reports from Budiarto. Hazy, cloud cover in different layers, the airport swinging back and forth between IFR and VFR, and PIREPS of moderate turbulence on approach. Better weather was forecast for the next day, but unless there was a mechanical issue, or a thunderstorm decided to plant itself over the whole of Jakarta, we were not staying overnight. Eventually, he clambered back aboard, and motioned for us to "get on with it" as he settled into his seat. My dreams of a weekend stay at The Empire Brunei on the company dime will have to wait for another day.

In anticipation of the bad weather ahead in Jakarta, routing to the ILS 30 approach was loaded in the FMS, which made for an interesting, curved approach. And as expected, it was intermittent IMC descending into Jakarta, the poor C4J got rattled the whole way down. Mercifully, the haze lifted as we got closer to the airport, and the turbulence went from "call your dentist" to "oh this is fun, isn't it". Wonder if I could parlay this into a weekend stay at the Ritz-Carlton. After all, it'd only be prudent to have an A&P check out the plane after such turbulence, right?

Good job on the last mission, camaradas. We did quite a number on their advancing troops.
We're having some difficulties getting our Skyhawks to attack the PLAN so for now on I want to see them covered by CAP always.

Speaking of which, tomorrow (March 19th) I want to see the A-4s as the main stars of the next operation.
Intel has revealed five PLA outposts at AO DART, by the fjords of the Magallanes Strait, which are very probably providing early warning for our enemy. Our Skyhawks are to strike those outposts with extreme prejudice. It is imperative for the A-4s to be escorted and defended against aerial threats. Time to give the PLA a nice poke in their eyes.

Naval Aviation Orders - 19 MAR 10

AO Dart (Southern Patagonia)

The carrier ARA Vienticinco de Mayo and the Chilean Fleet have rejoined combat operations and are eager to get back into the fight. However, as part of the overall surge of Chinese forces there has been a significant buildup of PLA troops throughout the area of operations. Using Isla Carlos III as a center of their western operations, the Chinese have deployed several combat outposts monitoring all of the major waterways (T1, T2, T5). They have retaken and rebuilt a radar installation on the Vasquez Glacier (T3), and also deployed a significant SAM facility on Coffee Island (T4). The specifics of the defenses remain unknown, but given the significant resources devoted to this region anything is possible. MANPADs, anti-aircraft cannons, SA-8 Geckos, and SA-11 Gadflys are likely present, in addition to PLAN marines, anti-ship missiles, and PLAN naval corvettes.

Command has ordered a major combined air attack on this AO, in concert with a classified special forces C-130 mission near T1. SACA will be working in tandem with Combined Air Forces Command on this operation. The Air Force will be providing extensive Combat Air Patrols (CAP) and Suppression of Air Defenses (SEAD) to allow the strikes to go forward, in addition to strike assets of their own. The Arco KC-130 air tanker will be deployed to the northwest of WP Lanus and will be available to support allied forces throughout this operation. Naval Combat Aviation forces will be comprised of two squadrons:

Enfield's GR9 Harriers will be acting as the Forward Air Controllers (FAC) for this operation. Your role will be identifying significant threats and targets, guiding strike assets onto them as appropriate, and delivering follow-on attacks as opportunity presents. Your mission will be to depart from FARP Bella Vista, travel southwest towards FARP Dinibor and connect with Ford Squadron holding near WP Lanus. Be aware of PLA anti-air assets that remain in this region as you cross the frontlines. Once the Air Force CAP and SEAD have initially secured the area (they will be prioritizing T3 and T4), work to identify targets near outposts T1 and then T2, and coordinate with Ford to prosecute. Attack AO Dart as able, and then return to Bella Vista. FARP Dinibor is available as an alternate landing site if needed.

Ford's A-4E Skyhawks will depart from Puerto Natales Airport, travel south towards WP Lanus, and connect with Enfield Squadron holding near FARP Dinibor. Be aware of PLA anti-air assets that remain in this region as you cross the frontlines. Ford's role will be to act as Tactical Air Support for Maritime Operations (TASMO) aircraft and attack PLA littoral forces throughout AO Dart. Once the Air Force CAP and SEAD have secured the area (they will be prioritizing T3 and T4), Enfield will act as FACs to enable the Skyhawks to deliver your strikes with increased situational awareness. Focus your efforts on outposts T1 and then T2, and do what you can to punish the PLA expansion in this region. Once complete, proceed NW along the Magellan Strait and land aboard the ARA 25 de Mayo carrier. It will be good to have you home.

Thanks to the hard work of the mobility pilots hauling in radar experts, okd training and engineering checkout teams, components and test articles, and a logistical expert who has an amazing ability to gain access and make a deal, the months long effort to begin rebuilding some much needed naval capability is showing first fruits.

The US Navy, in the early 2000s began decommissioning, exporting, or all but disarming its Oliver Hazard Perry frigates as it made way for the littoral combat ship. This was hotly contested by select congressmembers, but the US Navy was loathe to maintain the OHP and had great hope for the LCS. Now, in 2010, the first LCS has arrived and oh boy is it ready to stay close to port and run tests….

As rearmed and rejuvenated OHPs return to serve as fodder pickets and perform anti-air warfare anew, three of these USN ships are deploying to USSOUTHCOM, pending some input. They have rather little offensive capability, but have a capable if old SAM system, and some limited anti-submarine and anti-ship capability. The original plan was to collocate them on the east coast of Argentina, but this will be influenced by CSAD’s fleet admiral’s plans/desires.

To USSOUTHCOM,
c/o liaison officer Col. Forsythe

The South American Combined Armada (SACA) is grateful to the US Navy, and the hard-working civilian transportation pilots that made this naval assistance possible. The admiralty has identified two potential deployment opportunities for the Oliver Hazard Perry frigate reinforcements: Either proceeding to the east coast of South America to escort the NAeL Minas Gerais carrier and the Brazilian fleet, or traveling to the west coast to escort the ARA Vienticinco de Mayo carrier in the Chilean fleet. Both groups are faced with significant threats that the OHP FFGs could be suited to address. After consultation with CSAD supreme commander Gen. Carlos, it is clear that our preference is for the US Navy support to be directed to the western region of AO Dart. The ARA 25 de Mayo is anchoring a critical area of operations, and the Chilean fleet has taken significant casualties - with the supporting Ecuadorian fleet primarily composed of corvettes, the frigates are particularly spread thin. The fjords of Southern Patagonia represent an opportunity for the OHPs to excel at their role in fleet defense and medium-range combat, whereas the open waters of the Argentine Sea remain extremely hazardous for our naval forces that are significantly outmatched and outranged by the PLAN frigates, destroyers, cruiser, and carrier.

Chile requests the help of the CSAD efforts, and while you are assigned as the supreme commander, you have the authority to both coordinate flights, and release capability for them. We have several flights that we are currently unable to fill due to lack of experienced pilots and functioning airplanes.

As such, we request that you, as quickly as possible, provide us with a rudimentary plan in how you intend to supply these following areas.

All above sites are considered largely isolated due to mudslides and the heavy rain, making ground delivery extremely challenging and unreliable.

We require from you a plan of how to supply them, what is the closest airport to get to, and what planes you intend to use. The least amount of airplanes, and the smallest, you can use, the better.

ALL SUPPLIES for this are located at: Aeropuerto Zapala, Neuquén Province, Argentina.

Looking forward to your response.

CSAD forces are currently defending against the most persistent and wide spread phase of the enemy offensive. Diverting transport resources will have negative consequences for military logistics.

With this in mind, how many sorties per day are expected to transport the supplies and for what duration? What is the total quantity of supplies in tons? Are the supplies currently packaged for helicopter lift (UH-1, Mi-8), small fixed wing aircraft (OV-10), or in larger containers for larger cargo aircraft (C130)?

Please provide additional details and a map of the expected delivery areas at your earliest convenience.

While many outside observers may not realize it, the NATO country that is closest to the South Atlantic battlefront is not the United States - it’s France. The French colony of French Guiana may be a small region, particularly since it was divided from Guyana and Suriname in the 19th century, but today it is fully integrated into the French Republic and indeed the European Union as well. They use the Euro, speak French, and have an important role in hosting the European Space Agency’s primary launch center. From this northeastern corner of South America, French leaders have viewed the gathering storm of war to their south with increasing alarm. While the focus of their attention remains on European affairs, they cannot ignore the threat to French interests, much less 300,000 French citizens.

French executives from the Dassault Aviation corporation have landed in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. They have arrived for a defense industry conference being hosted at the Argentine Naval Headquarters, and are discussing a range of issues related to The Long Afternoon War. Dassault executives want to generate valuable contracts with both South American nations and the European Union. Once the conference has concluded, the group will travel south to Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, which is serving as the regional headquarters of the British Armed Forces and is home to their political and military liaisons. There they will be able to speak with their close allies about how the war is going and what is needed to win it.

However, the Dassault executives have made it known that they have some extra time in the schedule. They would like to travel to the famed Rio Negro wine region of Argentina (SAVN), conduct an aerial viewing of Atlantic whales off the coast of Puerto Piramides (SAPT), and finally check out the old aeropostale route of French aviation pioneer Antoine de Saint-Exupery (SARA) that is adjacent to their final destination. CSAD is hoping to organize support for military aid from the French government, and they have been only too happy to comply - in fact they have found a rare vintage executive aircraft to service the journey in comfort and style. The charter pilot has been asked to take these Frenchmen on their cozy tour of “classic Argentina” - make sure they get their fill of wine, whales, and history, and deliver them to their British allies in a giving and patriotic mood.

As you may have noticed, this mission involves checking out a lot of bespoke terrain. SAHZ -> SCQY (38°26′55″S 71°21′25″W, 3182 ft AMSL, runway 08/26, 3,084 ft, asphalt). 50,000 lb freight, 10 pax. Doable in an a320 or similar, its a short hop so can limit your fuel to be able to take the payload.

Charlie:
SAHZ -> SCPG (39°39′20″S 72°21′32″W, 940 ft AMSL, runway 02/20, 2139 ft, grass (dirt)). 60 pax. ATR-72 or similar short haul airliner should be able to do this no problem

Just a year after inaugurating President Al Gore for a second term, the American election cycle is beginning to rev up once more, and would-be candidates have been doing what they can to prove their foreign policy chops during this period of war and unrest. President Gore defeated President George Bush Jr. in 2004 and then Republican nominee Gov. Mike Huckabee in 2008, meaning politicians are already jockeying to succeed him. The Democratic pre-primary for 2012 is a close competition between Sen. Hillary Clinton of New York, and Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. With rumors that there is little love lost between Gore and Clinton, her establishment support has waned in recent months. However, with American troops fighting around the world, the domestic-focused Obama has yet to prove that his charisma is sufficient to convince Democrats to endorse him over the veteran First Lady.

Meanwhile, the Republican pre-primary is heating up as candidates fight for media attention. The wave of evangelical support that carried Gov. Mike Huckabee to the GOP convention in 2008 has clearly dissipated. Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts and Sen. John McCain of Arizona, still smarting after Huckabee’s South Carolina primary upset, are the clear favorites. While Romney has been charting a business-oriented path that advocates pivoting towards China and resuming commercial ties, the more hawkish McCain has been drumming up war rhetoric and warning that Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will only be emboldened by a Sino-American détente - particularly now that his one-time ally ex-Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is awaiting sentencing on corruption charges.

As part of his early campaign strategy, Sen. McCain’s staff have organized a fact-finding trip to South America that is intended to showcase his support for the armed forces. He has traveled to the Chilean regional headquarters of Puerto Montt, Chile (SCTE), where he has been meeting with military advisors and conducting public events to raise awareness for victims of the recent Chilean earthquake. After two days of shaking hands and kissing babies, the senator will travel southeast and visit the historic Butch Cassidy Ranch, near Cholila, Argentina (SALE). Besides indulging in a long-time personal interest in the wild west outlaw, the visit is intended to showcase the enduring ties between South America and the United States. Next on the itinerary, McCain will travel to Cueva de las Manos or “Cave of Hands”, near Perito Moreno, Argentina (SAQH). This prehistoric art site is famous amongst the indigenous community, and the western senator wants to highlight his three decades of work on the Indian Affairs Committee. Finally, Sen. McCain will travel to Villa O’Higgins, Chile (SCOH) - an active CSAD air force base that is supporting combat operations against the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. There he will meet with soldiers and airmen fighting on the frontlines, and signal his support of the war.

This “fact-finding” campaign trip represents a significant opportunity for South American officials to curry favor with a presidential contender and keep their war efforts in the media headlines. CSAD has provided a civil service aircraft to the senator as well as a governmental liaison to travel with McCain and his staff, photographer, and security guards. Politics aside, we need all the support we can get, so make sure that his journey is safe and successful.

Negostrike, in your role as General Carlos, CSAD, you get a choice here:

With the arrival of the 3x OHPs (USS Ford, Rentz, and Gary), the US intends to make a show of US Airpower. There is debate about which forces to send, and in a [fantasy] turn of events, the US is leaving it up to CSAD, which also means at least one US general officer is likely dead or in chains after having tried to kill the traitor who would let such a consider enter into consideration during the global force management tank.

Would you prefer?

Option 1: Episodic Naval airpower, consisting of USN F/A-18Cs with naval aviation strike package support and unlimited loadouts

Option 2: Persistent Marine Corps support, with a small contingent of F/A-18Cs and a small special-purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF), which means limited boots on ground enablers and USMC F/A-18Cs with some limitations to mission profile and loadouts based on the standard Six Functions of Marine Aviation and their role for the MAGTF

The OHPs will arrive on whatever date is the mission after the one you fly tomorrow. Their refit civil missions were narrative flashbacks. [OOC: In the event that date doesn't work, ask the GM, I just write stuff sometimes]

ATO: Rescue F-5E Pilot

There's a F-5E pilot who went down over the coast of Tierra del Fuego last mission. As a local tourist operator from Rio Gallegos, you know the area well. Sadly, you haven't had much work since the war began. After some patriotic drinking, you reckon that there's a good chance that if they managed to eject they'd end up along the San Simón Headland (https://mapcarta.com/20089080 52°44'13.7"S 70°08'26.1"W). The larger airports in the area such as Rio Gallegos or Puerto Natales have largely restricted the access to general aviators such as yourself. Getting permission to use their facilities takes time, and you don't want to wait. Fortunately, your keen knowledge of the region means you know that the disused Rio Chico airfield is still available - and it's within the city and only a short distance away. You can fly out of Rio Chico, land on the headland, rescue the pilot, and make your way back to the Aduana airfield just across the strait. Your drinking buddy promises to pick you both up in his truck, once you arrive.

Chinese anti-air systems are quite unlikely to pick up your trusty ultralight. If you act quickly, you might be able to rescue that pilot with none the wiser. The pilot was shot down by AAA cannon fire while attacking a coastal supply depot to the east of the headland. (52°45'31"S 69°38'07"W). If they went into the water, then waves would eventually wash the pilot and some debris up along the cape. If recovered, the soaked pilot thanks you but will only refer to himself by his call-sign "Breaky". That being said, he may well have some good information to offer his commanders upon his return.

Morro San Simón is a headland in Primavera, Tierra del Fuego Province, Region of Magallanes and has an elevation of 47 metres. Mapcarta, the open map.

I decided to leave before sunrise and followed a few miles off the side of the highway towards the coast, staying low and hoping to catch as little attention as possible.

The morning's weather was kind enough that I even started to relax a bit, until I saw the coast and remembered what I was up to.

I did the best boat impression I could across the water, and when it looked like the beach was clear I had a look around. I spotted what looked like a bit of orange cloth and by the time I landed the pilot had very sharply deduced that I was not an enemy aircraft. He presented himself, soaked and exhausted as expected, for a ride out of there. I loaned him a towel and some dryer, less POW looking duds. He made a quick call on the prepaid i brought with me, and we set off.

He was tense across the water, but seemed to trust me enough to doze by the time we made it down at Rio Gallegos.

I'm not sure who these guys were, and was sure not to ask.

Good afternoon, gentlegoons. This is your flight lead, R. Carlos Banderas C., son of acclaimed and blooded FAE pilot Raúl Banderas D., who also flew the Mirage F1.

Waypoints subject to whims of mission maker. Remember to reconfirm on the cockpit before takeoff or during cruise. It is a long cruise so we will have time to review coordinates. Gonna have to play it by ear, may land at SCNT to get a sip of fuel, or hit up the tankers if they are in a fortuitous place along their racetrack route. Don't sweat it if you don't feel up for aeriel refueling. Seriously no pressure.

Ford

Ford has been tasked with TASMO around point T1. We will be coordinating with Enfield flight, if they are active in the area.

Flight Plan

Loadout
100% fuel
Loadout is at pilot's discretion. Weather permitting higher altitude bombing might be viable. The whole flight can be completed without external fuel.

Comms
  • Own: 131.5Mhz, 10X/73X
  • Buzzard: 262.00Mhz
  • Depart: Puerto Natales (SCNT), 260.00Mhz, TACAN 26X
  • Home : ARA Vienticinco de Mayo TACAN 25X

Steerpoints
pre:
	1: LANUS, S 52° 49' W 73° 05', 14000' @ 300kts
	2: T1, S 53° 16' W 72° 22', 14000' @ 300kts

Flight Plan
  • Depart Puerto Natales and meet at TACAN 26X
  • Proceed southwest to waypoint LANUS. Coordinate with Enfield and wait for go ahead after SEAD missions are completed.
  • Proceed to area T1 and engage any enemy targets in the area.
  • Situation permitting, proceed to area T2 and engage any enemy targets in the area.
  • Proceed west up the straight and land at the Mayo carrier (TACAN 25X).

Notes

  • Weather is expected to be clear so we will be operating at higher altitudes.
  • There is a C130 flight tasked to the area of T1. We will provide cover for their air drop.
  • There is a high probability of enemy SAMs and AA in the area, spot those targets and focus on them. Call out any SAM launches.

General of the Combined Armies, CSAD

TF 'Lanza' Mission - Operation Santuario

With the PLA Navy's advance along the East coast, and the steady influx of PLA troops across the Strait of Magellenes, the situation on the ground in Rio Gallegos is looking dire. Fixed wing air travel out of Rio Gallegos is practically impossible, the highway MSR's are full near to capacity with frantic military logistics, and the civilian population is attempting a mass evacuation against civil directives. There are a number of key military personnel that have been wounded in the strikes on the SAWG airbase that are only now stabilized and ready for relocation, but ground transport is effectively impossible. The civilian Argentinian representatives for CSAD have also approached the Army leadership with some urgent demands. The regional government capital for Santa Cruz Province is in Rio Gallegos and the governor, vice governor, and the mayor of Rio Gallegos and their families have stayed since the war started to help coordinate civilian efforts and aid. However, with the possibility of the PLA conquering Rio Gallegos becoming a real and present threat, the civilian authorities are demanding that we rescue them from the city before it's too late.

Given the oppressive SAM envelope that the PLAN's fleet has extended over the city, our only chance of rescuing these key personnel is via rotary wing assets flying NOE, below their detection and engagement horizon. The CSAD Army has thus approved the use of TF Lanza to pull off this mission. We have received word that news of this operation has already been leaked out before a plan was even developed and we expect fierce civilian protests near the LZ's, especially near the LZ for the government officials. Be prepared for potentially violent demonstrators near the LZ, as there is significant outrage that military personnel and government figures are getting a priority lift out of town while the civilians are left behind, in their view.

Mission Objectives

We will fly along the river valley E/NE until we reach the start of the Gallegos Estuary, enter into a Nap Of Earth flight regime to avoid detection by the naval SAM's, fly into town, land, load the VIP's and wounded, and egress back to FARP Sophie where C-130 Hercules are ready to evacuate the VIP's further north. Delfín and Dragones will provide A2A cover, although we don't anticipate any PLA interference with this operation. Bandido and Orca will be in slick configuration for CASEVAC[Remove External Hardpoints in ME please].

Tasking/Flight Profile/Terrain Considerations

Once we get within ~30 km of Rio Gallegos, we need to be hugging the ground at all times. Once a SAM sees you on it's radar, you have maybe 10-20 seconds to get back under and stay under it's radar horizon. Practice your transitions from stable flight to landings in tight urban quarters while staying at a consistently low altitude. Chinese advances in technology (Read: DCS AI) can sometimes see through buildings and trees, so don't assume you're necessarily safe just because you're behind one. Hugging Madre Tierra is your best way to stay alive and get these VIP's out of harm's way. Once we're well clear of the city we can return to a more safe altitude on our way back to FARP Sophie.

San Juan - Mission Report 17 March 2010

Plotted a course south intending to intercept the invasion fleet on return to Ushuaia in or around the La Marie Strait. An Emcon sounding revealed two likely ASW patrol contacts, one appearing south of the invasion area and one appearing in a blocking position directly SW. I replotted a course around the observed blocking patrol and decided to risk a deep sprint followed by snorkelling once past it to reach my intercept point.

I bypassed the patrol area, but unfortunately while snorkelling detected close EMCON and was forced to go deep and evade East. Active Sonarbuoys were detected in my wake but no attack was prosecuted. Approximately 19 hours into mission I arrived at the intercept point and waited. The ASW contact that prosecuted me appeared to have returned to its standing patrol. The single contact that had been at the invasion area had progressively been noted moving SE along the coastline and by 24 hours into mission was approximately 25-30NM NW of my position at S54'37'08, W64'51'00.

No surface contacts detected.

In my sleep God gave me a vision where he showed me a shipwreck getting blown up by Chinese rockets.

GM UPDATE:

T1 TARGET:

T2 TARGET:

T1 and T2 are destroyed, thus those OPs will cease operation and will be abandoned.
Ford 1 and Springfield 1 both managed precise and effective bombing runs on targets.

T4 (Coffee Island) SAM remains, as does T3 RADAR site, and the OP at T5.

Once all these targets are neutralized, PLA's hold on Magellan Strait will start to become frail.

SPECIAL TASK FOR INTELLIGENCE SERVICES:

Not successful. C-130 flight aborted in-flight due to enemy J-11 threat. PLAAF were NOT able to detect the C-130.

Ford Flight's A-4s have returned to the carrier.

A flustered Royal Navy Officer bursts into the Briefing tent, printouts and maps trying to escape his arms while his glasses hang on only by the tip of his nose.
"Good morning, team! I'm ready to brief the pilots on their... Where are the pilots?" He looks around, pushing his glasses up and only seeing a few ground crew lounging around.
"Oh, of course only one of the pilots is going. He's already gone, took off about ten minutes ago."
The briefing officer sighs, and sets his map down while he massages his temples.

Overall, for my first flight with Enfield, this went pretty well. As a one-ship, and as I was supporting Ford's mission anyway, I just fell in with Ford with a TPOD trying to find and mark targets.

What went well:
Successful takeoff, good fuel management mostly, and good coordination with Ford.

Not so well:
Bit of a rough landing. Nothing non-fixable, but still a bit hard for the gear.
I didn't verify my waypoints, but I just swapped over to Fords point Lanus for my WP2. Unfortunately, my WP2 was the target area, so I vectored on to the wrong area when I shifted to WP3.

I had tons of time before Ford even got up, so I had time to check it. And, if I had set my waypoints beforehand correctly I could have saved a bit of fuel, as I landed with about 800lbs. My smoke bombs didn't do anything useful, and my White Phosphorous didn't do much either except against some of the soft targets, especially once I overflew the first target area, so once Ford found the vehicles and towers I was about useless. In future, if I could have learned the Maverick or brought some laser guided bombs I could have done more reliable damage.

Good morning Ma'am,

I am pleased to report that my squadron has landed to Aeropuerto de Puerto Santa Cruz, SAWU, this morning. We are proud to be the first permanent US presence in the South American Area of Operations, and we look forward to being able to contribute to the fight!

Our maintainers are hard at work, and as you can see from the long line of trucks waiting to get in, these birds require constant love and care to keep them flying. In addition, the size of the airport has been a challenge as we had to wait for the Mirages of the Ecuadorian 2112 Combat Squadron to leave the airport and rebase to El Calafate to allow space for us. Despite this, we believe we will offer a significant capability to your efforts.

We request a cargo flight to be flown from

As of now, I have standing orders to allow my squadron to be available for the taskings of the Combined South American Armada.
