Has anyone done a sports movie parody that was as sharp and biting like Walk Hard was to the music biopic genre?

A woman i work with bought a Jeep Wrangler recently and was bemoaning interest rates. We got to talking about it thinking it’d be like 6% and she said she was lucky to get 13% :cripes:

If you're paying 13% I think you probably have awful/no credit. In which case you should probably be buying a much cheaper (used) car.

13% for a Jeep Wrangler would make me sick to the point that I couldn't sleep at night.

The best deal in car buying right now are all the EVs sitting on dealer lots that people don't want to buy.

Problem is in the grand scheme of things they're not really "cheap" vehicles to begin with.

I would assume if they're paying 14% they have bad credit to begin with and were already extremely leveraged from other loans. I can imagine they've bought boats, ATVs, motorcycles, etc all on credit.

Yes a new civil war wouldn't be North vs South again or some similarly clear cut division, it would be rural vs urban.

This Shogun show is dimly lit and low contrast.

Half the scenes feel like they were produced by the same team that did the zombie winterfell episode.

Hard to see!

They made some really weird choices. Most of it appears to be shot with some kind of anamorphic lens and a vignette style around the edges with blurring. And that's on top of the really strong film grain effect over everything. I don't understand why. The production values on this show are incredible but it looks like total poo poo. It objectively looks worse in 4K than 1080 due to all the film grain.

The distortion and vignette I can understand as an artistic choice. But the film grain absolutely ruins the look when you are watching on large, high quality 4K screen. It looks like something shot on lovely film in the 70's (I guess Apocalypse Now really was their inspiration).

It doesn’t help that Blackthorne is such a tool. He looks like a bootleg Seth Rogen and sounds like a bootleg Tom Hardy. The character is written to be stupid beyond belief. At a certain point (like the end of the first week) you’d think he’d understand the gravity of his situation and stop being such a bumble gently caress.

Apparently this was a choice made by the creators of the show to avoid him appearing as a white savior.

But the problem is, he's so loud and incompetent it's hard to swallow Toranaga keeping him around.
