steam reviewers are enormous children who will claim a game is unplayable if they ever dip below 60 FPS at all for any reason

i'm on the world's most midrange PC and the only point where the game's FPS becomes atrocious is in the middle of the city, but i'm willing to shrug it off because it's a non-combat area that i'm mostly just chugging through. it's otherwise at a perfectly stable 50-60 FPS, which is all i need for a game that's already got a fairly languid combat pace

It isn't a non combat area

I think I know why the city runs like poo poo for a lot of people

It isn't that he city is full of people

It is that below the city is also full of people

there are areas of the red desert that will also have issues for some people because of this

Also I enjoyed taking a cart, having a few goblins and an ogre on one end ambushing us and a minotaur on the other end.

Cart got destroyed. Welp time to stare at 2 dollars for a stone or 20 minutes walking.

Take an escort mission for the sorcerer maister

get ambushed at night, like how slow were we going

maister instantly cyclones the cyclops and it falls on the cart

Have to walk the rest of the way since no one can move it

My review of trickster so far at level 40

It is fun but there are some things not described fully. You are only a buffing and utility class.

The funny out of body experience, dragging your dust ghost to a fake floor, requires a lot of set up. It is funny, but you can do more work faster without it.

Aromatic Resurgence is your only great skill next to Illusive Divider. The divider lets you block shots real fast or cause enemy pathing issues some times, other times they ignore it. Aromatic Resurgence causes your pawns to no longer buff or heal or listen to directional input commands, but ups their damage quite a lot.

The augment Fugacity is nice since it lowers oxcart events and later on you are moving back and forth a lot. But who knows how much it actually lowers it.

Also the desert gondolas are so stupid since pawns don't fight well on them.

I have had harpies grab one or two pawns and drop them from great distance causing me to deal with that.

I have had a griffon dive bomb and destroy a gondola so now I have to wait for that to respawn.

Edit: lmao, he says he was killed by a horde of goblins. How badly did that player gently caress-up for him to be killed by goblins?! He's a Warrior. I don't think I've had him die once in my playthrough.

RDR2 is another game I liked a lot, though I don't consider it the same level of "open" as DD2, Elden Ring, or BotW, because it still has a very substantial main campaign (and I think also makes use of clear quest markers and map icons, etc).

I have died to a horde of goblins in secret end time ending secret do not read secret

It just has that feel like they didn't care about how many bats or spiders or rats they placed in the parts under the city that they are still doing pathing for

then added all the humans in the city and jail and castle

Maybe Warrior/Fighter or the magic ones due to less need for quick movement?

No one, they all want less weight

and you get enough golden beetles for this to be solved

just walk around at night with someone that can do holy, the beetles are real easy to see then

This quest hosed with me because I never assumed the forger would tell on himself like that. Like, he's a forger and his job depends on people not knowing what they have is a forgery! I only found out after the quest that you can talk to the forger while Ed asks you to wait there, and then you can bribe him to tell Ed the forgery is actually the real orb.

There's probably all sorts of weird quest outcomes in this game.

He is very prideful about his work and wants people to know how good he is

Two people want the jadite orb. Only one person wants the real one. So you give them the real one, they take it to the forger, the forger goes yep its real, and the guy is happy and walks away. The other character doesn't care that he got the forgery and doesn't check it.

A thing that I like that is minor.

Mages have a basic and advanced version of every elemental spell.

They even have an advanced anti undead spell

The basic version is their aoe heal which also hurts some undead if they get close

For ghosts, they go towards your light, so have a mage cast that spell, turn on your lantern, and let them run into holy healing to take damage.
