Son of a bitch, I had an official pawn leading me to a quest and he leapt across a broken bridge, which looked a little too far to reliably make. Before I could turn back, my main pawn jumped and fell to her death in the river below <>

With how expensive resting at an inn is, it's a bit annoying that it's apparently the only way to sync your pawn. I'm fine sleeping by a campfire, just let my pawn go out and help other people!

Anyone have trouble with the Arisen's Shadow quest? I chased down the guy, refused the bribe, and killed him. I thought there'd be a quest update, but after looking it up online, it sounds like Brant was supposed to come in and stop the fight, except that never happened and he's lying dead on the ground now. Do I have to use a wakestone on him now to continue the quest?

I finally got to Battahl and was trying to do the sword restoration quest, but it wasn't triggering. I realized I didn't have the sword in my inventory, went to the inn to get it from storage, and it wasn't there either. Is it possible that I accidentally sold it? Can I get another one?

Wolves pinning you down were bad before, but the harpies in the Battahl area inflicting the unconscious state on you are megafuckers. It didn't help that I was playing a warrior, with super slow attacks and almost no counter to flying enemies, so I was constantly just stumbling around in a daze. I was strongly considering swapping out one of my skills for the one that cures statuses, but landing those big attacks is too satisfying to give up

I had a procgen escort quest, she died in a fight, I used a wakestone, then she died a second time when in another encounter she ran way off and got consumed by a slime. Some adventurers just weren't meant to survive vv

The guards started attacking me while I was in the forbidden lab in Battahl and I was really confused, because I had already been in there looting all the rooms for a good 10 minutes before it started happening. Nobody even tried to stop me or warn me before walking right in, which kinda seems like it should be a prerequisite before attempting to kill you!

I've fought half a dozen griffons but have never killed one. How do you stop them from just loving off when they take too much damage?

Finally took down my first drake, and ended up using two wakestones in the process. I was a mystic spearhand, which I thought would make it easier, but the bolt didn't seem to slow it down much, and the animation lock on the spear attacks got me in trouble several times. I neglected to take the actual projectile weapon skill, and so a lot of the time the drake was airborne was spent trying to air dash toward it and whiffing. I'm close to level 10 on mystic spearhand, so I'll probably go ahead and max it out, but I don't think I'm going to keep using the vocation. Something about it just feels kinda clunky to me, like the skills don't synergize well or something

Tabletops posted:you don't have the invulnerability bubble for your whole team? I didn't have the upgraded bubble, so I'd use it and my party would inevitably be spread out and end up taking some big hits. Which meant that I had to go grab them and run off to try and revive, which is usually when one of the drake's spells would pop and get me, which the bubble didn't seem to help with. I haven't had much luck with the charge attack putting me in an advantageous position against big monsters, and I admittedly swapped out the magic missile one as soon as I could because it didn't seem very strong. Other than the charge and shield, I had the divebomb equipped, which isn't much help against a drake (the heart is on the underside), and the telekinesis spell, which again didn't help as I was out in the open with little to utilize. Sorry I'm not as good as you, I guess

I don't know if it's just reddit in general, but I've been following the subreddit for the game since it came out, and it's weird how it's been dominated by these cycles of outrage. First everybody was really upset about the microtransactions, then everybody was really upset about dragonsplague ruining their saves, and then they were really upset about the lack of enemy variety. I get that sometimes there's a topic du jour that people will bat back and forth for a bit, but at its peak, it seemed like at least half of the posts in the sub were one form or another of complaining about the game. Like, if reading the sub were your only exposure to the game, you'd think Itsuno personally went to every redditor's house and shot their dog or something. Not to say that the game is flawless, but I've just been over here enjoying the journey (literally and metaphorically), climbing on big monsters and savoring the hammy pawn banter. It's like reddit wants to hate the game, for some weird reason

Coolness Averted posted:Fun fact: the game autosaves if you use a wakestone, so I could not just quit and reload to get mine back after resurrecting a rando guard. AFAIK the game has two autosave slots, a normal one and one that only updates when resting at an inn/house. You could probably just rest before doing anything potentially risky and then roll it back to there
