The Zillow search term of the day is "LEED". Houses that are LEED certified or whatever, which is kinda bullshit but whatever. LEED Gold: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/5970-SW-135th-Ter-Miami-FL-33156/122019054_zpid/ wait, did I say kinda bullshit? I meant entirely bullshit, ain't no way this 6500sf Miami monstrosity is "green" in the slightest https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1100-Normandy-Ln-Glenview-IL-60025/3356509_zpid/ it's a slightly flattened McMansion but with like a buttload of windows oh god why do those landings look like they're leaning inwards this house has more dormers than actual roofline https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/282-Aqueduct-Rd-Washington-Crossing-PA-18977/9104557_zpid/ this reminds me of the previous house but it's almost square and has just 3 rooflines so I guess I can't criticize it too much LEED Platinum: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1871-Indian-Trail-Rd-Bloomfield-Hills-MI-48302/24494282_zpid/ by Young & Young (2010), another house that is way too big to be eco-friendly https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/943-Monastery-St-Cincinnati-OH-45202/170843548_zpid/ by Bronzie Design & Build (2021) this house is, as the kids say, A Mood yeah I was expecting a Chair here too, the color scheme fits https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/248-Kathy-Rae-Dr-Sugar-Hill-NH-03586/113447073_zpid/ by Re:Vision Architecture (2009) https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/7262-Atlantic-Ave-South-Haven-MI-49090/74606854_zpid/ I have seen a lot of modern interpretations of capital-c Craftsman design and I actually like this one. They kept it simple, didn't go overboard with the embellishments and used a classic floorplan that isn't unreasonably large. Good job, unnamed custom builder.

Is it better or worse that I assume the actual chassis, engine, drive train, interior etc. are somewhere else I storage or garage? Are there any images from the other side? I wonder if there’s any chance this is just a replica shell or something and there’s not even a real frame under it.

alright here is Zillow Houses Under $500K That I, Youth Decay, Really Like. https://www.zillow.com/homes/34-Hollow-Rd-Woodbury,-CT-06798_rb/57838892_zpid/ just a nice ca. 1750 Dutch Colonial kitchen is definitely not period-appropriate but is definitely awesome https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/109-S-Hamilton-St-Poughkeepsie-NY-12601/30082897_zpid/ y'all knew I had to include a fancy Victorian right This old-timey kitchen timer looks like a slide rule! Also love the sifter funnels for flour and sugar and the cookbook holder. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1930-Berkeley-Rd-Highland-Park-IL-60035/4909104_zpid/ just want to highlight this bar-office-sunroom area right here, it fulfills all of my WFH needs https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/429-W-State-St-Hartford-WI-53027/40554963_zpid/ $189k for this magnificent Craftsman in Hartford, Wisconsin https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/825-Ockley-Dr-Shreveport-LA-71106/51358625_zpid/ A truly unique house - built as a Tudor Revival by S. G. Wiener (heh) in 1927 and interior redesigned in MCM style by Lester Haas in 1961 Dining room table and light fixture are Haas originals https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/8204-Brookside-Rd-Elkins-Park-PA-19027/9910008_zpid/ 1981 passive solar by Alley Friends Architects, basically my dream house the built-in seats round the woodstove, yes please. Also note the use of daylighting and solar gain - the proper amount of south-facing glass for the climate (full walls of windows cause overheating), heat gets absorbed by the mass of the brick and tile for cooling and is released at night. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/1210-W-Oliver-St-Owosso-MI-48867/75754330_zpid/ by George Brigham (1950). I know location makes all the difference but still how the gently caress is this only $250k. The house with updated electric and HVAC, the extensive gardens and outdoor living space, the river...and the sculptures outside convey. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4557-Conestoga-Trl-Akron-OH-44321/35335793_zpid/ funky treehouse-ish thing by Gerald Rembowski (1970) https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/868-New-Concord-Rd-East-Chatham-NY-12060/30000764_zpid/ Been trying to figure out who the architect is but apart from "was clearly an apprentice and/or fanboy of Wright" I've come up empty. Did learn that its former longtime resident was Randy Kaye, drummer for jazz legend Jimmy Giuffre and also briefly for Jimi Hendrix, so that's neat. I love the floorplan, and especially the layout of the bedroom (despite what the listing says this is very much a 1-bedroom house) even though it might be too open for many people. Move from the entry to the main living space to the kitchen to the dining area to the office with built-in desk, which is around the corner from the bed area with the sunken-stone-bathtub, lavatory and dressing area, which then connects to the sitting/TV area, which wraps back to the front door. A center chimney is used for the 3 fireplaces.

I would also agree that a glass top is not ideal, it's just going to get smudged all the time, and worst scenario something heavy drops on it and the glass shatters. actionjackson fucked around with this message at 05:20 on Jul 24, 2021 |

I bought the quad cabinet Corridor in the chocolate finish and media base today. The glass top looks way better in person, it is acid etched and a matte finish and I was told it can be easily buffed to remove any potential scratches. Should be delivered in 4-6 weeks.

Better. The floor and walls were much too busy, restricting the floor to a single shade and reducing the space occupied by the hectic wall pattern calmed the energy of the room. The bedspread is just my kind of stupid.
