FINALLY SOMEONE ASKED HIM THE QUESTION!
ON "ABC-TV" DURING THE "NETWORK SPECIAL ON HEALTH CARE".... OBAMA WAS ASKED:
"MR. PRESIDENT WILL YOU AND YOUR FAMILY GIVE UP YOUR CURRENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
AND JOIN THE NEW 'UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PROGRAM' THAT THE REST OF US WILL BE ON ????"
THERE WAS A STONEY SILENCE AS <>OBAMA IGNORED THE QUESTION AND CHOSE NOT TO ANSWER IT !!!
IN ADDITION, A NUMBER OF SENATORS WERE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS."WE WILL THINK ABOUT IT."
AND THEY DID. IT WAS ANNOUNCED TODAY ON THE NEWS THAT THE "KENNEDY HEALTH CARE BILL" WAS WRITTEN INTO THE NEW HEALTH CARE REFORM INITIATIVE ENSURING THAT THAT CONGRESS WILL BE 100% EXEMPT !
SO, THIS GREAT NEW HEALTH CARE PLAN THAT IS GOOD FOR YOU AND I... IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR OBAMA, HIS FAMILY OR CONGRESS...??
WE (THE AMERICAN PUBLIC) NEED TO STOP THIS PROPOSED DEBACLE ASAP !!!! THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG !!!!!
PERSONALLY, I CAN ONLY ACCEPT A UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE OVERHAUL THAT EXTENDS TO EVERYONE... NOT JUST US LOWLY CITIZENS.... WHILE THE WASHINGTON "ELITE" KEEP RIGHT ON WITH THEIR GOLD-PLATED HEALTH CARE COVERAGES.
If you don't pass this around, may you enjoy his Plan!

Amendment 28

Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .

One note about seeing people bitch about the ACA and marketplaces, and how their costs haven't significantly gone down, is that if you play with the exchange variables enough from the minimal info they spout about what its costing them, you can essentially figure out what range of income they are in for their household. I don't get envy, but it annoys me that people making 6 figures bitch that they have to pay $500 a month for a family of four. They have no idea that this poo poo isn't for them and want to know why.

I just got laid off, so my wife was looking at what rates would be through the exchanges, when she put in our income it came out as some absurd percentage of the poverty level. $500 a month for health insurance seems pretty reasonable.

I've found the "knockout game" discussion particularly painful. Let me rephrase that. He lied to Buzz Aldrin, a man who risked his life to advance science and discovery by exploring space, about wanting to interview him for a children's television show so he could accost him with a camera crew about conspiracy theories. Aldrin socked him right in the loving mouth, was not charged with anything, and I'm pretty sure he could've probably strangled that man to loving death in front of everyone there and not be put in prison.

The jury could just claim the footage looked fake.

My motivation for engaging the crazies I know on facebook is to provide a second voice to be heard by everyone else. I know I'm not likely to change the minds of most people, but if I can make a well reasoned argument hopefully someone on the sidelines will get the message.

This would be a government jobs program, which would never work

Since I'm a huge nerd, I ran some numbers...

There's 132,000 K-12 schools in the US, about 99,000 of those are public schools.
We'll take the average school year to be 180 days, and the average school day to be 7 hours.
At the federal minimum wage of $7.25 each veteran would earn $9135 per year. That's below the poverty level (good thing they would have summers off to work a second job, right?)
Putting 3 veterans in each school at that wage would cost $3.6 billion per year for all schools, or $2.7 billion for just public schools.
