Trump has always been a shameless self-promoter, but his art of acting like a wrestling heel to get attention is relatively new and basically all learned from Omarosa. Even her Apprentice run is not as impressive as The Surreal Life, where she provoked Janice Dickinson (who was known as Top Model's own hard-rear end reality show coach) into a mental breakdown and ran her off the show in like two episodes.

With Sanders it's both superdelegates and the fact that there's disproportionate allocation of delegates, and with Trump he could easily fail to get a majority and be ratfucked at the convention. Welp, technically we've never been a democracy anyway

By the time the race is over and Sanders has endorsed her she will have well over 50% support

That said I didn't say Bernie was certain to win, just that a scenario where he won a majority of the popular vote in the primaries was still realistically possible, I.e., had a non zero, non-trivial probability.

To be fair, Obama had less of the popular vote than Hillary. I don't think democracy died that year. It was also a hell of a lot more contentious primary than this one. Supporters on both sides are dramatically overstating the passion against either candidate among Democratic leaning voters. I early voted Hillary in NC but I also admire Bernie. I would happily vote for either in November. 2008 also had some weird spots like Michigan and Florida that altered the vote calculus to be fair though.
