Neither Overkill nor Deathwish are hide in a closet difficulty, and you're not going to find anyone interested in playing on Very Hard. Don't worry about that. Higher difficulty levels are now extremely accessible; a significant amount of the Unfair Bullshit has been removed from Deathwish (and was never really there on Overkill) plus the player power level is higher than it was when you last played. It'll take a little getting used to but the game has never been more welcoming of stepping it up to a higher difficulty. like I think the only times I ever played non-Ovk or higher with goons is when someone was mask-hunting for the difficulty masks, and that was a looooooooong time ago.

I gotta say, I am loving loving most of the changes I've noticed. The deck system is fun to unlock and use, being able to unassign and juggle around skills (and save presets) for free is amazing, etc. Everything feels so much more flexible, and it also feels like there are way more viable play styles, rather than just a handful of obvious superbuilds. re: mumble - not many are active in it these days because it has been a while since there has been any new content added, but try out the steam group chat too, or post that you'll be playing and others may join you.

Yeah, we're in a bit of a lull right this moment - it's been unusually long since new content got added, so the old folks are in hibernation. But there are still cops to click!

Yeah, I do hate turning away people when they pop in and I'm not in the mood, but I'll pretty much always show a new player around no matter what.

Also, back when I started on GoonMod a few years ago I certainly didn't expect to be seeing my name in the credits now

I can't really notice a difference legboxes do as I've been groomed for headshots, setting them on fire or exploding them at this point. But was it everything leg shooters dreamed of?

I figured as much, I just found it kind of odd since sometimes the safe in the boss's office of Firestarter 2 doesn't even spawn. Also this is probably the first safe where I can say I actually like all of the skins in it. Once they allow skins for the SAA I'll have to learn how to make them so I can submit a replica of Patton's.

So you can now switch skill profiles in preplanning and the forums are very mad that this ruins balance - somehow. Steam mods are saying it could be a bug, but I don't really mind this as a real feature. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=756400149 Because this could make switching around things between games or joining mid heist even easier. Or if you ever care to, switch between loud and stealth builds between days! Crabtree fucked around with this message at 01:04 on Sep 2, 2016 |

It does fundamentally break any need to balance the requirements of play between days of heists, making multiday heists with variable requirements that much more trivial. Given the other changes to the game that have already reduced difficulty, that really, really isn't good.

Or god forbid someone could bring a stealth build to Rats day 2 and gently caress around and make a youtube video about how hot poo poo stealth they are. Piss. Fundamentally all this means is people can switch between builds with different weapon skills on multi-day loud jobs. Sniper rifles for Hotline day 1 and shotguns for day 2. Game balance = hosed.

Why are people even complaining that the ability to change builds between days makes hybrid builds useless? I have nearly 1500 hours in this game and the number of times I've actually fought out heists after stealth was broken - as opposed to simply restarting - I can count on one hand.

It's an interesting approach, but you have to come at it with the right mindset. There are a number of heist where mixed stealth works out pretty well. Firestarter 2 and Diamond are good examples. In FS2, you can stealth through the hacks, then go loud to saw the door and steal the server. On Diamond, someone(s) can pull out artifacts and partially complete objectives. There's no reason to do it unless you find it amusing, and it's always done with the knowledge that things will eventually go loud.

Two questions: 1) Have dragon's breath rounds always been incompatible with silencers? 2) Has anyone else been having trouble getting Bloodthirst to proc properly? And desync probably shouldn't play a role, since all skill bonuses should be client-side.
