Also Misterbibs, in addition to being chronically wrong, is not really an authority on processed meat seeing as how the consumption of sausages has almost killed him on several occasions due to some medical condition.

A kuerig that doesn't heat anything? What the gently caress? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/features/2017-04-19/silicon-valley-s-400-juicer-may-be-feeling-the-squeeze The Juicero has become the poster child for Silicon Valley excess. This juicer requires a wifi connection to scan DRM QR codes for juice bags that expire after six days. Each bag costs $7 or $8. There is a subscription service. The machine itself is over-engineered and the juice can be made faster by just squeezing the bag with your hands. It cost $800 last week, and I think they slashed the price to $400 this week. The CEO looks exactly as punchable as you think he'd look.

I was going to write the line "I didn't need to know how the sausage was made, even before EE convinced me to stop eating them", but figured that would be kinda gauche.

There's also a loving Keurig for tortillas. http://flatev.com/ It's going to retail between $400-$600 and each tortilla is going to cost like $1. ![]()

The Juicero is an SNL ad come to life. It's basically a $400 machine that squeezes a big Capri Sun.
|

It also refuses to squeeze bags even a day past its expiration date, saving you from death

Well, I didn't say there aren't many moral problems with eating meat of any kind and even specifically McNuggets. It's just with all those other legit problems it seems dumb to focus on "they look gross and are made of weird things".

I remember when Tide came out with a laundry Keurig for about $500. I forget what they called it but it was very dumb. "Oh, so it's a home dry cleaning machine?" "Nope." "Oh, so it just washes one shirt at a time? That sounds kinda wasteful." "Yeah, not even." "..." "It kinda steams a shirt and febreezes it."

the best part is you have to use their bags of juice for this $400 machine, you cant do anything else with it im shocked its not linked with bitcoin somehow, it sounds like something thought up by a goon to mock the bitcoin community idea men

Matt's rant about how Silicon Valley's bubble is gonna burst and spray Soylent all over us on the most recent Chapo was hilarious. Also, I'm the guy who saw Escape From LA 20 years ago and decided I had no interest in Escape from NY. Fixing that tonight.

"Cold-pressed juice" is the same thing as "raw juice", which has been around decades at this point, and is just unpasteurized juice with some of the fiber left in it. Add that to the list of ways the Juicero is a non-innovative innovation.
|
![]() |
|
The innovation isn't in the product but how they sell it.

I understand the logic that eating meat encourages and fuels the horrifying cyberpunk death machine known as industrial factory gaming, but given that just existing in the first world means you are directly responsible, on a personal basis, for immeasurable human suffering and probably at least a dozen deaths and literally cannot stop this by your own efforts, I've found it hard to give a poo poo about the ethical implications of the Mcnugget.
