The opposition in this country are referred to as the 'shadow' government. They're mandated to wear all black in public and must conceal their faces when Parliament is in session. They're tasked with undermining their 'light' counterpart by any means necessary.

One rather important difference between UDA and IRA though:

The preferred modus operandi of the UDA was individual killings of civilian targets in nationalist areas

Basically, it's who the Opposition (the big party that didn't make it) would put into the various ministries if the current governing party fell apart or lost the next election. It's a general idea of who Labour would want running the country were they in charge.

It sure sound sinister to folks outside the UK tho :v:

Flip Yr Wig posted:

Bang on. DUP would deny it's that close, but they're the biggest Unionist party now, a bunch of the little ones merged into them and they've got former UDA stone killers as members.

Brexit is still on, and frankly it'd be a little difficult for Corbyn himself to completely slam on the brakes. It'll take a full government collapse and Labour campaigning on a direct "stop Article 50" platform to stop Brexit at this point.

Well because there wasn't a Tory rout, Labour only lost 5 sitting MPs, none of whom were significant figures, but there were also a few New Labour types who chose to stand down. As a result, Labour have a good number of new MPs, who were selected and ran on a Corbyn ticket. The remaining anti-Corbyn elements have had to admit they were wrong about his electability and are already making public statements of contrition.

No. The UDP was the political wing of the UDA and was replaced with the UPRG which has been controversial for receiving government funding for its community activities

The DUP dicked around with the Third Force, which where largely farmers with no guns who wanted to wear fatigues, and the Ulster Resistance which tried to be an umbrella group for Loyalism but the parry broke ties with it after the government busted a scheme they where involved in to sell stolen missle plans to the south African government for arms
