Gaussian is a nazi gently caress who only ever turns up in the thread when there's some disaster for him to breathlessly gloat over. He's a carrion feeding nazi oval office and needs to gently caress off.

hit button posted:He's right. DSMA notices aren't like injunctions that are issued for individual incidents or information. They're a set of standing voluntary guidelines for the media which outline the circumstances in which classified information should not be relayed to the public. When necessary, the DSMA committee may contact editors to alert them that certain information falls under the existing notices. Almost entirely right, except that that DA-notices are issued on top of the standing ones. For example PRISM and Snowden had a DA-Notice slapped on it. Edit: Lily Allen was right in how much the death toll has been downplayed in the media though, mid-day today was the first time the police really acknowledged that it's looking at 100+ (30 dead already, over 70 missing). It genuinely feels like this is going to end in riots. I can't ever remember seeing this level of anger so publicly. I guess in part it's the rise of social media, but it really does seem all pervading. There was just an interview with a goony looking guy on BBC news whose family were instructed to stay put, but instead rushed around to alert their neighbours and got their floor out. It was both heartbreaking and also perhaps a parable on the state of the county today.

The best thing about this awful tragedy is the simmering anger of the people living there. There needs to be changes and their anger helps to make that change come about. Also Emma Dent-Coad has been awesome about this, and the Queen. I am happy that more media outlets are seeming to report the sheer incompetence of the tories to respond in a humane way here.

I'm actually beginning to suspect the conspiracy theorizing that the tories are trying to throw an upcoming election so someone else can take the fall for the upcoming Brexit shambles might not be so outlandish. If it weren't against the backdrop of the awful fire, i'd almost call this a Thick Of It-style comedy sketch come to life. I haven't seen the latest Question Time yet - going to watch it tonight.
