But wasn't Bernie's tax ideas focused on making rich people and corporations pay their fair share?

A mirrored response: Because Clinton couldn't defend stances like opposition to a $15 minimum wage and her campaign contributions from Goldman Sachs, Hillary Clinton had to project these factual statements into a smear campaign of lies and innuendo rather than deal with the truth behind them. When challenged to come up with a single position for which there is solid proof that Clinton's stance was chosen because of campaign contributions, Bernie Sanders couldn't come up with anything. Similarly, we know that Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell, and other Republican senators never took a position because of Exxon dollars, right? Clinton's implicit alliance with SuperPACs which donate to politicians like these caused lasting damage, making it harder to unify progressives in the general election. Hillary Clinton is really bothered by the thought that it's possible a day doesn't go by where Bernie Sanders doesn't regret what he did. He's not a Democrat, and she thinks people that aren't willing to kiss the ring and stand by their party instead of policies have no place in politics. He's fundamentally right about the Democratic Party -- the party that brought us the atom bomb under Roosevelt, the Vietnam War under Johnson, a reduction of capital gains from as high as 98% to 28% under Carter, and means-testing and welfare reform under Clinton, and the Wall Street bailout under Obama. People are ashamed to call themselves Democrats, and the world would be a better place if people like Hillary Clinton could see why. galenanorth has issued a correction as of 20:18 on Sep 5, 2017 |

etalian posted:But wasn't Bernie's tax ideas focused on making rich people and corporations pay their fair share? No you see a universal health care plan would not do anything to cut costs, therefore you would need to raise taxes on the middle class to pay for it Taintrunner posted:rich people think they're the middle class Also this
