So what exactly is the difference between powerviolence and grindcore?

Powerviolence has two speeds

Powerviolence maintains more of the characteristics of hardcore punk while grindcore "conventionally" relies on more metal influences. Basically: Snowy posted:Powerviolence has two speeds

Might as well mention this Necrobutcher clone, which is borderline unlistenable, but it's not like Necrobutcher is very good... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMyoX71-aCA P.S. Post more NBA on NBC metal and less grindcore.

Went to see my friends band open up for Mortuary Drape but I had to leave early at least I got the MD shirt! Man that place was packed full of stone faced people acting like they burned a church or two.

I saw Mutliation Rites in a pretty small venue 4-5 years back. I was drinking at the bar between sets talking to some random guy, and after a few minutes he said "oh hey I got to go" and he climbed up on stage and started playing/singing. A cool dude.

I used to live by the Acheron in Brooklyn, when it started a lot of the shows were free so it was fun to just pop in to whatever show was going on. One time my very non-metal sister was visiting so I took her over there just as Mutilation Rites was taking the stage. It was a great first show and she was like “I’m still not into the music but I completely understand the attraction now!”
