Ich bin mir sehr sicher, dass man ~100% der FDP-Mitglieder und -Wähler dazu bringen könnte, einen Unterschied zu machen - aber nur in die Richtung, dass die AfD wenigstens Privateigentum respektiert oder so ähnlich

Not to disrupt the exciting Steuer&Abgabenchat in our German thread, but what is a good strategy to get good Stollen in a city? In Berlin, I am aware of maybe two or three bakeries that actually bake their own stuff instead of selling dry Backwaren that the Großindustrie shat out. And in the supermarkt, everything is packed garbage as well. Any hot Tipps for Stollen dealers? Edit: Also applies to Baumkuchen, the king of Kuchen.

My parents swear by the Stollen sold at the Johannesstift "Weihnachtsmarkt" (it's tiny) which is on Erster Advent only, but I have no idea where it's from or what's so special about it. Re: artisanal bakeries: Isn't there like Zeit für Brot at U Eberswalder Straße? Haven't tried them but I'm told they're the poo poo and there's always huge lines of hipsters. Dunno if they do Stollen though. The pro move obviously is to wait until Dreikönige and then scoop up the remains of Dresdner Stollen at the supermarkets when they get priced down. Same for any Christmas chocolate.

In Hamburg we got Bäckerei Hönig in Niendorf. Operates like a classic Handwerk and makes everything from scratch. The prices reflect that, of course, but god the stuff is really legitimately amazing. I should definitely order a Stollen or two there for Christmas.

There's an artisanal hipster bakery around the corner from my job, I don't know if they do Stollen but their bread is seriously miles above even the bread from the good local chains. Which translates to about €6-8 per loaf. But it's very filling and keeps for 4-5 days easily where most other breads are only really good for the first two days or so, so maybe it works out to something reasonable on the average.
