Amni's follow up reads more town to me. This is in response to Varinn's explanation. hambeet posted:I think over explaining an action would have been more suspicious. Amnistar does not seem suss on the action or his explanation. I hate this wording by hambeet. Calling the votes on Amni ~lowest hanging fruit~ reads like ham overselling their suspicion level on anyone who voted Amni. hambeet also doesn't vote here. "Gee those sure are some bad votes!" I think hambeet's perspective reads likes scum speaking negatively about the votes on Amni-- who scum-hambeet sees as an easy target. ##vote hambeet

zzyzx posted:If you want to criticize Varinn's case for being premature, I get that. Varinn doesn't want Amni to coast into the sunset off of one shot; great, then Varinn should case him for that later, if it looks like that's what Amni is actually doing. Maybe it seems more harsh than I meant it, it just gives Varinn very little odds of making a similar (and good) case by pointing it out right away, whether or not Amni ever had the intent of doing that in the first place or if being "aware" even crossed his mind. Most games I've seen Amni in, he's pretty active and helpful (or pretend helpful as scum). It's a criticism because it's projecting and not completely sincere because half of what he accused Amni of doing never happened. Still confused about MiR's "random poo poo" comment on me though.

I get it Sandwolf but to be fair it was tit for tat - I did a big post targeting him, if he had replied with a "lol" or a smaller vote anyone could say he was avoiding the issue. Overall I don't feel like amnistar shooting is a town read as people are saying. I think it's probably more likely to be town, but I don't think it's a move that ONLY town would do. I do have a hard time relating to just wanting to shoot a dayvig at first chance. I think as scum or town I would sit on it for a few days so I won't be doing something dumb. Maybe I'm too conservative.hambeet posted:hmmm so are these Are these votes (and Yuming's) bad because they are voting for Amnistar because you think Amnistar is town? The vote for amnistar is "You didn't do a cool enough job using your daykill". I don't think it's a real vote. Also KK says that this is a 100% town tell on amnistar (in that post but in a part I cut out), and I don't think that's true (see above). Khris Kruel posted:When you voted he had 3 votes by my count. I'm going to go ahead and explain my gut vote on LordNad. Tom Tucker already covered a lot of this.LordNad posted:
Way too certain of an alignment call for what is actually at stake. In my experience scum are far more likely to double down on their weak early votes when they get called out and tend to spin up their reasons into something dire rather than keeping things in perspective. They end up overthinking and overexplaining minor plays to make them sinister and intentional. LordNad posted:4 posts later, 12 minutes after Varinn drops the 2nd serious vote on Amni, he comes in with his joke vote. The timing is very suspicious to me, and it is a vote of opportunity disguised as a joke. I don't know Liger but I sure as hell am not getting a townie vibe from him. This is LordNad looking for a reason to keep calling Liger scummy. Now it's not that Liger voted for someone he had a town read on that he finds scummy, but the fact he did it twelve minutes after Varinn's vote. I don't feel this kind of suspicion merits LordNad's earlier "get lynched" comment. Sandwolf posted:LordNad, who pinged my gut earlier, just gave a very long post overexplaining an early D1 vote. LordNad posted:Liger could have joke voted earlier than Varinn and it wouldn't have registered as scummy to me. Reading over you and Tom's back and forth, this is the one I don't get? The two posts were within 40 minutes of each other with back and forth between him and Amni. Early on day 1. With like four total posts in between them. When I voted I completely missed that he was joking in the first vote, and found the serious then a delayed joke vote scummy. But you are saying that if he votes 4 posts earlier in the thread its a joke, but four posts and forty minutes later where the only real change was one post by Varin makes it a scum move?

LordNad posted:It is an admission. He clearly states he thinks Amni is town [i]and yet he still voted for him[/]. The conclusion is not hard to draw. He could have joke voted Amni earlier than he did in the post where he literally said he wanted to vote him for his avatar. He waited until after Amni got a second serious vote. Why? To keep building momentum imo. OK Sandwolf and TNL looking back at LordNad's response again this one still doesn't feel right, the "admission" piece. Using that word feels so strong for what is essentially facts. He's "admitting" he joke voted after first joking about it? That's not at question, so framing it as an "admission" is strange. Almost like cross-examining a witness and going "so you ADMIT you were at the bank the day it was robbed?" "...yes I am the bank manager who was shot." This isn't good context for that kind of word. LordNad's reasoning for it here does still feel empty - Liger states he thinks Amni is town and then placed a joke vote on him. There's no "admission" here, there's no "ah ha! You admit it!" it's just the facts. Also this "he could have joke voted him in the first post" as if there's a right and wrong way to joke vote. The "admission" double down is really not sitting with me right on the re-read, even if I can see his argument on the other points. I will ##vote LordNad I'm glad you both prompted a second look.
