As a Seahawks fan, an average O line is almost beyond my wildest dreams for this season. Such an underrated contribution this year (even if MIN kinda abused them).

fartknocker posted:Problem is voters are dumb and tend to think about only who is coming back from an immediate injury or issue. Teddy's injury was training camp 2016, so it might as well be ancient history for them. If Ben doesn't completely fall apart, he's likely the favorite for it for narrative bullshit reasons, with Cam right behind him (And, depending on how he comes back after COVID, might overtake him). It’s an extremely nebulously defined award. Rivers won in 2013 based on coming back from playing badly the previous year. He wasn’t injured or anything, just a bad year to a good one. Vick won it after coming back from prison. They can basically give it to anyone, for any reason.

Like...this is a curse in a way. The Browns had Bill who could have done perhaps what happened in NE but in Cleveland but instead the Browns relocate to Baltimore and have a great few decades and Bill goes elsewhere and then there is doom for 25 years in CLE

It is very funny that the Browns' last playoff victory was Belichick beating the Patriots though.

Shimrra Jamaane posted:Why is it sacrilegious if the Super Bowl is played in March. IT has to be played before march 15th due to the CBA - the league year ends then. I think in general the NFL is doing everything it can to avoid an 18th week because then what happens if someone in week 18 tests positive do you do a week 19, etc type of cascading scenario and they'd much rather forfeit regular season games than have to miss the playoffs/superbowl games.

Our generations hunter s Thompson https://defector.com/were-on-to-cincinnati/ quote:This isn’t to say that the NFL wasn’t willing to do new things to make the season work, because the NFL was and is always eager to do things. It’s just that the things the NFL did—feats of high-tech hygiene theater, weird stagey rationalization, statements written in the league’s trademark military-adjacent syntax—reflected the extent to which the league’s power players had refused to do the single most important thing they could have done: learn how this pandemic works and act accordingly. There was a daunting challenge buried in all that: if teams responded to clubhouse outbreaks per pandemic-management best practices, this season would quickly become untenable. But also: what if everyone involved assessed the challenge in full, weighed the various options, and just decided not to care? How might that work?

He missed a kick against the Favre Vikings to lose the game for the Ravens so I don't like him. I am sorry for the ending of his career though.

Yeah it was really awkward when the Bills like wouldn't ever send him out for 50+ field goals, and they had to get uhm a "kickoff specialist". They had a rookie kicker from Illinois that probably should have won the job out of training camp last year forgot his name or what happened to him but he was more accurate.

I'll always dislike him as a player for that kick. That's what I think of too. That was on the road in minnesota where we've never won. Against the Favre Vikings in their best iteration, the one that should have gone to the SB that year if Favre hadn't thrown that pick. It was an improbable comeback the Ravens did coming back from 17 down in the 4th quarter. And then he missed the kick. Looking back at the game we actually took the lead 31-30 then they got another FG. I remember that play now where Frank Walker gave up that huge pass right after. But that might have been a blessing cause it made their goahead field goal not be going in as time expired. So the loss still falls on Hauschka. That would have been a really great win.
